Are you ready to rethink your routine? We’re looking for a Brand Innovation Manager to join our Skincare Product Innovation team. As Brand Innovation Manager for Skincare, you will work closely with the Head of Skincare Brand Innovation to shape the Skincare category strategy and be responsible for the creation, briefing and development of gold and silver launches that perform at the highest quality and efficacy standards, working closely with our Marketing teams to ensure that the benefits are communicated clearly and in an engaging way to the consumer.

The Role 
Your daily to-dos might look like this:

  • Working with the founder, Chief Innovation Officer and Head of Skincare Brand Innovation to build the skincare product innovation strategy and long term NPD pipeline that reflects the brand vision, mission, goals and values.
  • Driving the ideation, concept creation, briefs, artwork & product story development, toolboxes, training materials and business reports and ensure the cross functional input from key stakeholders.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement for existing products (EPD).
  • Leading the ideation on your projects, with emphasis on high quality, innovative concepts and creation of ‘legacy’ products that fit in line with our business and marketing strategies and brand values, ensuring the needs of the founder, key stakeholders and consumer are met.
  • Preparing business cases for each project gate.
  • Writing product and design briefs with clear deliverables, target costs and RRPs, ensuring key skincare pillars are always front of mind. 
  • Getting sign off on product briefs from key stakeholders and briefing out to functional teams, supporting procurement, packaging and project management in supplier brief meetings. 
  • Briefing the Designer and Senior Packaging Manager and co-developing the product design and artwork for primary & secondary packaging - always including competitor analysis.
  • Ensuring the development of the formula and pack is as per the brief. Includes approval of the final prototype at gate 2, working closely with the team, project managers, technical, packaging, and procurement teams to develop the prototype.
  • Working closely with the Head of Skincare Brand Innovation on the pricing strategy and review, working cross functionally with the Finance & Management team.
  • Developing and building, with technical functions, strong product claims that can be communicated on all your projects
  • Keeping up to date with market, competitor and supplier innovations and keeping innovation and creativity front of mind - attending relevant trade shows and taking inspiration trips.
  • Working closely with the technical, packaging and quality teams to set quality standards for formula and packaging and approving bulk manufacture. 
  • Supporting the delivery of creative, engaging and on-brand product assets by working closely with the Product Marketing & Design Team and attending relevant shoots.
Requirements

These skills will help you go far in this role:

  • Degree in Cosmetics Science or Chemistry or background in a lab environment would be advantageous
  • Previous experience within the beauty industry in skincare product development
  • A strong understanding and knowledge of technical and testing requirements
  • Speed to market and able to work in a fast paced, start-up work environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills (within our team, and across the business)
  • Experience with sales data and analysis
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Agility and adaptability
  • Highly organised
  • Quality-first always in mind
