Job Description SummaryManagement of customer equipment, faciliaties or infrastructure projects: responsible for project delivery, profit & loss accountability, and customer satisfaction through management of project related activities and resources. Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing the project and direct or indirect leadership and/or management of project resources for small-medium sized projects (size in relation to GEV electrification Grid Solutions business) that may include equipment-only, suites of products, maintenance contracts or turnkey projects.
  • Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
  • Lead cross-functional project teams across engineering, procurement, logistics, installation, and commissioning.
  •  Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, maintaining high levels of satisfaction
  • Oversee factory, site, and construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, schedule, Quality, and EHS standards.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively manage risks, issues, and change orders, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage project budgets, contract administration, and variations, liaising with legal and commercial teams as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to GE Vernova processes, safety, integrity, and core values throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support tendering, sales, and lessons-learned processes, contributing to continuous improvement and future project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing end-to-end projects
  • A background in Engineering, ideally Grid or Power industries.
  • Customer facing and stakeholder management experience
  • Willingness to travel for site visits during project execution and other business purposes
  • Ability to deliver results under pressure, meet tight timelines, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and manage project scope, resources, budgets, and risks while ensuring high-quality standards.
  • Excellent English (oral and written) with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

Desired Characteristics

  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Experience managing HVDC projects
  • Understanding of Services industry and Long Term Services Agreements
  • Knowledge of Grid Products (GIS, AIS, Power Transformers, Protection Relays, Automation & Control).
  • Preferably based in Stafford, UK or surrounding areas.

Location

This role would ideally be based in Stafford, UK, however we are open to candidates based at other GEV offices in North and South Europe.
