Job Description

This role is the technical owner and customer-facing lead for Windows audio integration with OEM partners. The engineer will take Bose audio software (APO/driver package), integrate it into OEM Windows platforms, drive validation and certification, and represent Bose as the day-to-day technical face for future Windows OEM programs.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end Windows audio delivery at OEM sites, including hands-on development, integration, and maintenance of Bose Windows audio components (APOs and related driver components/extension INF), plus packaging, signing, and deployment. Design, implement, and maintain Windows audio APO features (C/C++), including real-time processing behavior, configuration handling, and effect-chain compatibility across endpoints and scenarios. Work directly with OEMs, codec vendors, and internal Bose teams to define and implement effect-chain insertion strategy, slot mapping, and coexistence behavior; drive required code/config changes to meet OEM platform constraints. Drive bring-up on Intel and ARM based Windows laptops and validate runtime processing in real audio paths (not just registration/install success), including performance/latency and stability verification. Lead code-level debugging and root-cause analysis for audio path failures, format negotiation issues, dependency/load failures, and chain policy conflicts using logs, traces, and repro harnesses; deliver fixes in APO/driver code or configuration. Run on-site debug for audio path failures, format negotiation issues, dependency/load failures, and chain policy conflicts. Coordinate tuning/tooling handoff workflows (Matlab/CLI-based flows, config payloads, versioning, and update process). Act as the primary technical spokesperson to OEM engineering teams for current and future Windows engagements. Support program leadership with realistic schedule/risk assessments and decision-ready recommendations.

Must-Have Qualifications

8+ years in Windows audio or Windows driver integration in OEM environments. Hands-on expertise with Windows APO architecture, COM registration, endpoint properties, and effect-chain behavior. Strong experience with INF authoring, driver packaging, signing workflows, and WHQL/HLK certification processes. Proven OEM integration experience with PC manufacturers (Lenovo/HP/Dell/etc.) and codec vendors. Solid debugging capability across user-mode audio engine behavior, driver/package dependencies, and deployment pipelines. Experience with Intel and ARM laptop audio ecosystems and Realtek codec integration patterns. Ability to lead technical conversations independently with OEM engineering teams on-site. Fluent English; Mandarin working proficiency required.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior ownership of cross-company integration programs in China. Experience with audio tuning toolchains (Matlab-driven workflows, parameter distribution, secure config delivery). Familiarity with security/signing governance, key management, and release controls in enterprise environments. Experience in customer-facing technical leadership roles (architect + integrator + escalation lead) Android audio development experience highly preferred in addition to advertised responsibilities.

Core Skills

Windows audio stack and APO insertion models (replace/coexist/wrapper). Driver extension strategy and production packaging discipline. OEM negotiation and technical governance (RACI, interface ownership, acceptance criteria). Validation leadership (functional, compatibility, regression, and release readiness). Clear communication with engineering, program, and executive audiences.

Our goal is to create an atmosphere where every candidate feels supported and empowered in the interviewing process. Diversity and inclusion are integral to our success, and we believe that providing reasonable accommodation is not only a legal obligation but also a fundamental aspect of our commitment to being an employer of choice. We recognize that individuals may have different needs and requirements based on their abilities, and we provide reasonable accommodations to ensure ideal conditions are met during the application process.
