ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is looking for a Senior VFX Artist who will add extra life to the environment, characters, weapons, and other assets on our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Extraction Battle Royale shooter, currently available as Early Access on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S, and PC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior VFX Artist, you will:

  • Create visual FX for all areas of the game, ranging from in-game assets to cinematics
  • Work closely with our Lead VFX artist to ensure a consistent style and quality level across all the various types of FX assets
  • Partner with our render engineers to develop new or improve upon existing technologies so as to push the bar of game FX forward, both visually and technically
  • Demonstrate creativity and technical ability within the constraints of console development
  • Develop assets optimized for current and next-generation consoles
  • Maintain a high visual quality bar within performance constraint
  • Troubleshoot and problem-solve visual effects-related issues
  • Actively develop and improve your skillset and abilities by staying aware of the industry trends and techniques, evaluating competition, and learning new software packages and traditional art method

REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of experience as a professional FX artist for AAA games
  • At least 1 shipped AAA title as a VFX artist
  • Bachelor of Arts degree, or equivalent industry experience and training
  • Portfolio of realistic, high-quality real-time FX work
  • Proficiency in standard art packages like Maya and Photoshop
  • Good understanding of shader techniques as applied to visual effects
  • Experience in working with a game engine and implementing 3D work into the engine
  • Working knowledge of dynamics and simulations packages
  • Good communication, organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
