Description

We are looking for a Senior User Researcher to develop insights about customers’ needs that will support the development of a long-term product roadmap and inform the design of products that are valuable to researchers. This role will enable the organisation to track customer satisfaction over time to enable continual improvement and facilitate customer growth.

Our Future Health is the UK’s largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.

Our plan is to bring together 5 million volunteers from right across the UK who will be asked to contribute information to help build one of the most detailed pictures we have ever had of people’s health. Researchers will be able to use this information to make new discoveries about human health and diseases. So future generations can live in good health for longer.

What you’ll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Conduct in-depth qualitative and quantitative user research with researchers to define customer pain points, behaviours, and needs, supporting the development of a long-term product roadmap.
  • Design and execute usability studies to refine features before launch, reducing issues at launch and improving user satisfaction.
  • Establish scalable feedback systems (e.g., satisfaction surveys (NPS)) to track customer sentiment and continuously refine product offerings.
  • Analyse and synthesize research findings into actionable insights and strategic recommendations
  • Build and maintain a knowledge repository of user insights for ongoing and future reference
  • Support with management of our Early Adopter community.
  • Inform and update researcher user personas and support in development of service maps to inform design/product decisions and user-centred improvements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support non-expert peers leading additional user research activities.
Requirements

To succeed, you will have some of the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience conducting user research with digital products or services, and the ability to design and run research autonomously.
  • Significant knowledge of a range of user research methods, including interviews, unmoderated testing, survey design and usability studies.
  • Demonstratable (at interview) ability to analyse and synthesise complex research data into tangible insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Experience of using appropriate software and tools to conduct user research.
  • Experience developing or managing continual customer feedback mechanisms, e.g. NPS.
  • Experience working in an agile, iterative way with cross-functional product and/or service teams, with experience of discovery and delivery phases of product development.
  • Experience working with life science or health-based products or services is desirable but not essential. The ability to understand complex issues related to these fields is essential.
Benefits
  • From £52,000 per annum basic salary.
