CIO Enabling Services provides Test Environment Services to deliver and continuously improve test environment engineering through innovation and automation, driving excellence in test environments and test data provisioning. Supporting the whole of LBG with an expertise in Major Programmes, our team provides end to end testing environments using both physical and cloud-based solutions. With an eye on virtualisation and self-service the team is developing a range of service offerings to help speed up provisioning of environments to support fast paced change.

Joining us as a Senior Technical Application Specialist specialising in Test Environment Services you will play a pivotal role within the area. You will help drive technical delivery by providing effective coordination and integration of various technical components that requires cross-cutting engagement across multiple Labs and/or third parties to deliver all aspects of test environment solutions. 
You'll get to work closely with the various engineering roles within test environment services ensuring you contribute to the prioritisation of your deliverables, as well as other members of the team such as the environment specialists around key dependencies and engineering leads to ensure we do the right thing for our customers.

Key activities include:

• Participate in the various lab product walkthroughs (design/architecture/testing)
• Capture all aspects of test environment requirements from Architect/QA Lead
• Collaborate with other platform Integrators, Quality Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and other key stakeholders to finalise requirements.
• Identify connectivity between applications and ensure required teams are engaged.
• Coordinate the integration process and/or implementation across shared infrastructure.
• Manage E2E delivery of environments for various phases of Testing (SIT/NFT, UAT)
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders across labs to enable delivery at pace.
• Track environment releases, upgrades, and changes.
• Support environment incident fixing to ensure stable test environment availability.  
• Identify shortcomings and suggest improvements to existing processes, systems, and procedures, then delivers a plan for a small element of a change management programme with guidance from a project/programme manager.
• Identify blockers to delivery by proactively monitoring, trouble shooting and diagnosing technical issues.
• Analyse specified problems and issues to find the best technical and/or professional solutions.
• Support all phases of delivery lifecycle, including implementation activities if appropriate.
• Document RTL test environment connectivity including third party interfaces.
• Control test environment costs and seek efficiency improvements.
• Continually review and improve test environment processes and services.
• Proactively identify and manage test environment RAID.
• Manage various resources to deliver fit for purpose test environments.

We’re looking for candidates with a strong blend of technical and delivery skills. You don’t need to have everything on this list, but experience in several of these areas is ideal:

• Technical background in environment provisioning, support, and management
• Ability to translate complex technical solutions into clear, non‑technical language
• Strong understanding of Environment Management and Route‑to‑Live processes
• Experience transitioning applications to cloud platforms and supporting new operating models
• Background in infrastructure delivery and cloud technologies
• Knowledge of banking sector
• Experience in technical recovery, incident, and problem management
• Strong organisational awareness and stakeholder relationship skills
• Ability to lead multiple deliveries simultaneously
• Familiarity with change methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall)
• Team leadership, coaching, and mentoring ability
• Logical, creative problem‑solving skills
• Excellent people and relationship‑building skills
• Enthusiasm to learn and develop in a hands‑on role

Required technical skill set – 

Must have experience in:

• UrbanCode
• WAS Admin
• Splunk / Dynatrace
• Oracle - SQL

Desirable:

• Jenkins pipelines
• GitHub Enterprise
• F5 Load Balancer Admin
• DataPower Admin

Familiar with:

• Jira
• Venafi / Certificate Management
• OCP
• Grafana / Influx DB
• Scripting Knowledge – Shell / Groovy / Python
• Incident Management / Release Management / Service Request Management
