The Role


Are you ready to take your tax expertise to the next level with a trailblazing leader in cloud solutions for life sciences? Veeva Systems is seeking a proactive and detail-driven Senior Tax Analyst to oversee critical aspects of our domestic tax operations. From preparing tax provisions to driving compliance and spearheading audits, this role offers a dynamic opportunity to shape the future of tax processes in a cutting-edge environment.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare quarterly and annual global ASC 740 tax provision models, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Lead calculations for tax implications related to ASC 718 Stock-Based Compensation, 162(m), and other tax provision components
  • Executing tax accounting control compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Collaborate with external service providers on Federal and State income tax returns, including book/tax differences, state apportionment, and disclosures
  • Oversee the accurate and timely filing of tax forms, payments, and state/local business licenses
  • Handle federal and state notices, tax audits, and inquiries from authorities
  • Reconcile general ledger tax accounts monthly and provide detailed supporting documentation
  • Conduct research and provide insightful analysis on tax implications of specific transactions
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather financial information for tax purposes
  • Take the lead on ad hoc tax projects that drive continuous improvement

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in federal and state income tax compliance and reporting, in a CPA firm
  • Expertise in ASC 740 tax provision preparation
  • A sharp analytical mindset with a knack for problem-solving
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Excel

Nice to Have

  • A degree in Finance or Accounting (B.S./B.A.)
  • CPA certification or a Master’s in Taxation
  • Experience with Big 4 firms or in a multinational corporate setting
  • Previous exposure to Netsuite

Compensation

  • Base pay: $90,000 - $140,000
  • The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions. This position may also be eligible for other types of compensation in addition to base salary, such as variable bonus and/or stock bonus.
