Senior Strategist, Investment Solutions

This is a great job for an experienced individual to join our Investment Solutions team. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with global insurance clients to design and deliver tailored investment strategies.

A bit about the job:

We are a global asset manager that combines our insurance heritage, investment capabilities and sustainability expertise to deliver wealth and retirement outcomes that matter most to investors. As the asset management business of one of the UK’s largest insurers, our experience makes us a natural partner for clients looking for consistent returns and enhanced capital preservation through market cycles. We invest across public and private markets, with extensive fixed income capabilities, and we offer bespoke solutions that cater to individual client needs.

This role is based in London, within our Investment Solutions team.

The successful candidate will work with a wide range of clients, primarily insurance companies. They will be responsible for translating the client’s target outcomes into tailored investment strategies and integrating those mandates into our portfolio management processes. The Investment Solutions team also acts as the insurance centre of excellence within the business, assessing changes in the insurance market (such as the impact of new regulations), sharing our experience through case studies and thought leadership, and identifying opportunities to grow our insurance franchise.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Extensive experience of developing investment strategies or mandates for insurance clients.

  • A detailed understanding of how global insurance solvency and accounting regimes influence the investment and asset-liability management strategies of insurance companies.

  • A broad understanding of public and private asset classes, including derivatives.

  • CFA, Actuary, or similar professional qualification.

  • Energetic and forward thinking with high ethical standards and truly professional approach.

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Generous pension scheme - Aviva will contribute up to 14%, depending on what you put in

  • Eligibility for annual performance bonus

  • Family friendly parental and carer’s leave

  • Generous holiday entitlement plus bank holidays with the option to buy/sell up to 5 additional days

  • Up to 40% discount for Aviva products

  • Brilliant flexible benefits including electric cars

  • Aviva Matching Share Plan and Save As You Earn scheme

  • 21 volunteering hours per year

Aviva is for everyone:

We’re inclusive and welcome everyone – we want applications from all backgrounds and experiences. Excited but not sure you tick every box? Even if you don’t, we would still encourage you to apply. We also consider all forms of flexible working, including part time and job shares.

We flex locations, hours and working patterns to suit our customers, business, and you. Most of our people are smart working –spending around 50% of their time in our offices every week - combining the benefits of flexibility, with time together with colleagues.
