Senior Specialist, Commercial Trade Analyst
Purpose of the role
This role is pivotal to our mission of enabling data-driven decisions and delivering actionable insights that directly influence our EBITDA and working capital objectives. You'll operate at the heart of our organization, addressing dynamic global challenges across 140+ markets and 60+ medicines and products spanning diverse therapeutic areas.
As part of Global Business Services, this position offers you the opportunity to play a key role in shaping strategies within the Global Access, Insights & Trade division, specifically within our Global Commercial Trade Channels.
Main responsibilities
- Analyze Gross Sales, Gross-to-Net components, and Net Sales, from prices and volumes to discounts, sales allowances, and returns, to uncover trends and opportunities at therapeutic area, product, and channel levels.
- Deliver insights into working capital components like accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory, driving smarter decisions and healthier financial outcomes.
- Evaluate product profitability, promotional expenses, and selling costs to maximize ROI and resource allocation.
- Assess market trade dynamics, competitive landscapes, and go-to-market models to elevate market positioning and inform global strategies.
- Build impactful Power BI dashboards, reports, and visualizations, ensuring actionable insights reach key stakeholders effectively.
- Work closely with commercial, finance, operations, treasury, procurement, and manufacturing teams to align analytics with organizational goals.
- Design and enhance analytical tools and models to streamline data processing and improve decision-making efficiency.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to keep strategies sharp and maintain a competitive edge.
- Continuously improve trade strategies and processes, driving meaningful change across more than 140 markets and over 60 products globally.
Your profile
- A bachelor’s degree (or higher) to support a strong analytical and business-oriented mindset.
- Proven Expertise: At least 5 years in commercial finance, business intelligence, or pricing analytics, with a solid track record of success.
- Demonstrated success in a multinational environment, ideally within the pharmaceutical sector, with regional or global exposure.
- Proficiency in ERP systems like S/4HANA, coupled with advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint to bring data to life.
- Deep familiarity with pricing strategies and analytics methodologies, particularly in the context of pharmaceutical data.
- A history of managing large, complex datasets with precision and ensuring the highest standards of data accuracy.
- Outstanding ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, translate complex data into actionable insights, and present to senior leadership with clarity.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, influence decision-making, and foster collaboration across departments.
- Skilled at navigating shifting priorities, making informed decisions, and addressing challenges with confidence and flexibility.
- Strong financial and commercial understanding to align analytics with broader business objectives.
