The Role

We are looking for a Senior Solution Architect to take a leading role in designing and delivering data-driven solutions for our clients. In this position, you will own the end-to-end solution architecture, combining internal capabilities with leading commercial products and frameworks to deliver impactful, scalable outcomes.

Working within our Consulting division and reporting to the Architecture Team Lead, you will play a key role not only in solution delivery but also in shaping and advancing our architectural capability. This includes contributing to and leading the development of internal intellectual property such as frameworks, methods, and go-to-market demonstrators.

You will also be actively involved in pre-sales and business development, taking ownership of the technical solution approach for bids, defining architectures, shaping delivery strategies, and producing estimates. In addition, you will help represent our organisation externally through participation in industry events, conferences, and thought leadership activities.

This role is ideally suited to someone with strong experience in UK Defence market with knowledge of relevant Defence standards.

 Responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Delivery: Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of modern solution architectures, translating business needs into effective, scalable solutions across a range of technologies and platforms.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and clients to ensure successful implementation, providing clear direction, advice, and architectural guidance.
  • Technical Leadership & Governance: Lead solution reviews, ensuring designs meet client, regulatory, and internal standards, and contribute to the development of architecture policies and best practices.
  • Strategy & Innovation: Develop technical strategies and advisory artefacts, while conducting horizon scanning to identify emerging technologies and shape new service offerings.
  • Commercial & Planning: Produce cost models, risk assessments, and business cases, ensuring robust estimation across the full solution lifecycle.
  • Capability Development: Contribute to the development of managed services and internal capabilities, while mentoring and supporting junior team members.

Experience Required

  • Solution Architecture Expertise: Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate) with experience translating functional and non-functional requirements into scalable solution designs.
  • Cloud & Technical Capability: Demonstrable experience with major cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure), distributed systems, and a range of technology stacks (legacy and modern).
  • Consulting & Delivery Experience: Proven track record leading large-scale transformation programmes, including presenting to Technical Design Authorities and securing stakeholder approval.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across business and
  • Domain Expertise: Strong background working with Defence and/or Central Government clients.

Security Clearance Requirements

The successful candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DV level security clearance.

Location

The role will require travel to our Horsham 1-2 days a month and travel to client offices in Bristol when required.
