WHO WE ARE
Zeta Global (NYSE: ZETA) is the AI-Powered Marketing Cloud that leverages advanced artificial intelligence (AI) and trillions of consumer signals to make it easier for marketers to acquire, grow, and retain customers more efficiently. Through the Zeta Marketing Platform (ZMP), our vision is to make sophisticated marketing simple by unifying identity, intelligence, and omnichannel activation into a single platform – powered by one of the industry’s largest proprietary databases and AI. Our enterprise customers across multiple verticals are empowered to personalize experiences with consumers at an individual level across every channel, delivering better results for marketing programs. The Senior / Lead Software Engineer builds, refines, and operates the Real-Time Events component of the Zeta Marketing Platform (including LiveIntent). They design high-performance, low-latency event ingestion pipelines, audience evaluation systems, and privacy-compliant data processing services that handle hundreds of thousands of events per second across AWS, Kinesis, and Kubernetes — ensuring reliability, observability, and cost efficiency at scale.
We're looking for engineers who can:
- Design high-throughput event ingestion and processing pipelines (Kinesis, Kafka, Firehose). Build services that collect pixel events, conversion signals, and identity data in real time, with sub-50ms collection latency at 500K+ events/second.
- Build reliable, low-latency microservices on EKS and AWS. Containerize with Docker, deploy via Helm/FluxCD, and run cost-efficient workloads in Kubernetes with zero-downtime deployments.
- Implement observability, reliability, and cost efficiency at scale. Instrument services with metrics, traces, and logs; monitor SLOs; optimize Kinesis shard usage and cluster costs.
- Work with streaming architectures and data lake delivery (Kinesis, Firehose, S3/Parquet). Design scalable ingestion, enrichment pipelines, and fan-out strategies that keep real-time data flowing to audiences, attribution, and analytics consumers.
- Make smart language and architecture choices (Scala/ZIO, Java, Python). Choose the right tool for the workload — Scala/ZIO for typed, concurrent effect systems; Java for enterprise integration; Python for scripting and data workflows.
- Navigate ad-tech and privacy domains (GDPR, CCPA, consent, identity). Build privacy-compliant event pipelines, enforce consent at the edge, and handle data subject requests across distributed systems.
- Lead through technical influence, mentorship, and ownership. Drive design reviews, share best practices, own on-call, and help teams build reliable, high-quality real-time services.
