Software Engineering, Growth @ Clay
As a Software Engineer on the Growth team, you’ll build features that directly impact user activation and retention in the product, as well as unlock new enterprise use-cases. You’ll work closely with our data, sales, and design teams to understand customer workflows and run experiments to improve the user experience. One such example is a referral system that gives customers free Clay credits if they make a referral. The Growth team is also responsible for core components of the Clay product like new user onboarding and our billing system. This is an exciting opportunity to fuel Clay’s growth and measurably improve user engagement.
What You'll Do

Design, ship and maintain core growth features. You will own and develop our business-critical feature flows related to user activation and retention, such as the onboarding experience. These tend to be full stack, but frontend-leaning.

Run experiments and iterate based on results. You will work with our data team to design, run, and iterate on experiments that affect user activation and retention, taking a learning-first approach.

Rapidly prototype and develop enterprise features. As we grow our enterprise customer base, you will be the first in line to build out the full stack features we need to best serve their use-cases and unlock new customers.

Collaborate with data, product, sales, marketing and design to design features and respond to feedback for our core Growth feature flows.
What You'll Bring

You have a proven track record of execution. You have 4+ years of hands on full-stack engineering experience as a software engineer in production environments.

You love ideating and experimenting on the user experience. You’re prepared to collaborate with other functions like data and sales to test out ideas, blending creativity and a data-driven approach.

You take ownership in driving projects forward from ideation to impact, translating ideas into implemented solutions and responding to feedback.

You’re familiar with our current tech stack or can learn unfamiliar technologies quickly. Our primary stack is Typescript, React, Node.js, and AWS services: Aurora (Postgres), Elasticache (Redis), Elastic Container Registry (ECR), ECS (Fargate), Lambda, OpenSearch.

Bonus: you understand sales and marketing workflows or have past experience in the sales and marketing industries.
