Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Software Engineer who possesses a strong interest in all the low-level technology that makes a modern video game tick to support the Cfx.re creator platforms, including FiveM and RedM. As a member of our team, you will need a critical and creative eye capable of putting forth innovative solutions to complex problems. If you like to understand how things really work “under the hood” of your favorite games, we’d love to hear from you.

This is a full-time, permanent and in-office position based in Rockstar’s unique game development studio in the heart of Leeds, England. 

WHAT WE DO
  • The Rockstar Creator Platform Team deliver a technology platform that enables players to experience community created content on fully customized dedicated servers where creators can develop their own game modes and other modifications in a variety of scripting languages.  
  • We create technology, tools, and solutions to enhance the creator experience and empower our community to create and share any experience imaginable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain and improve existing and new codebases, ensuring high standards of quality, stability, and efficiency in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Support software release processes across multiple branches, coordinating with production and engineering teams to ensure readiness and a high standard of quality.
  • Help identify, prioritize, and resolve critical issues, coordinating timely fixes while maintaining overall system stability.
  • Drive release planning, deployment, and rollback procedures.
  • Maintain and enhance build, test, and release automation pipelines to improve development workflows and deployment reliability.
  • Monitor platform health, performance metrics and operational KPIs post-release, helping drive issue resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Work across Creator Platform and broader Rockstar development teams to develop robust solutions for complex software challenges.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 5+ years of experience on a software development team using C++. 
  • An understanding of computing fundamentals and related terminology.
  • Ability to manage large code bases with variety of different areas, with an understanding of risk associated with proposed changes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an emphasis on debugging C++ code.
  • Understanding of memory layout considerations as related to padding and cache efficiency.
  • Analytical skills geared towards the measurement of system performance, memory use, etc., plus the communication skills needed to generate solutions.
  • Experience with source control workflows, including branch management, code integration, conflict resolution, and maintaining stable development practices.
  • Proficient with GitLab and/or GitHub, including their CI/CD systems.
  • Ability to collaborate positively with other departments across Rockstar studios

  • Experience optimizing complex programs.
