Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location: London (Hybrid) | Type: Permanent

The Role

Capco is growing our Engineering team – and we’re looking for experienced SDET's with a passion for delivering innovative solutions in financial services. If you enjoy solving complex problems, working with cloud-native technologies, and collaborating in agile teams, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) at Capco, you’ll contribute to high-impact, client-facing projects that shape the future of financial services. You’ll work alongside talented engineers, have access to industry-leading training, and get the opportunity to grow your skills across multiple platforms. You will also get the chance to work across different domains within FS & Energy.

What You’ll Do
  • Create, Drive and Build test strategies that are robust, reusable and scalable
  • Be responsible for creating detailed test artefacts such as test plans, test specifications, automated tests, defect tickets and reports
  • Manage test environments, test devices, defining and creating consistent test data and reports
  • Work with both your team and other cross functional teams to plan and execute tests using the latest test automation technologies, processes and tools to deliver frequently, safely and efficiently for millions of banking & financial customers
  • Coach, mentor and up-skill other automation engineers
  • Have the ability to communicate complex ideas to non-experts with eloquence and confidence
What We’re Looking For
  • Deep knowledge of at least one OOP language - Preference for Java, Scala or Javascript
  • Experience building test automation frameworks from scratch experience using tools such as; WebDriver, Selenium, Cypress, Playwright etc
  • Experience across different test layers with a heavy preference for having exposure to both API, as well as UI layer automation
  • Experience of test and issue management tools e.g. Jira, RTC, TestRail and Quality Centre
  • Good understanding of public cloud, infrastructure and CI/CD - tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Stash, SonarQube, Performance centre
Bonus Points For
  • Background as a developer preferred
  • Load and Performance Testing experience – Load Runner, Performance Centre and JMeter or similar tools
  • DevOps processes and Public Cloud experience using AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Experience migrating on-premise solutions to a cloud ecosystem.
  • Agile methodologies – Scrum, Kanban, Lean UX, X
