Your future role within QRT:

As a Senior Software Buyer at QRT, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our software procurement processes. This position requires a proactive and detail-focused individual to oversee software licensing and renewals, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness across the business. You will collaborate closely with IT, procurement peers, and other stakeholders, while contributing to the development of QRT’s software asset management strategy.

Software License Renewals:

  • Manage and track the renewal of all software licenses, ensuring renewals are handled proactively and on time.
  • Maintain a renewal calendar with key dates, contracts, and terms for each software asset.
  • Negotiate with software suppliers to obtain favourable terms and cost-effective renewal agreements.
  • Ensure renewals align with the forecasted needs and are cost efficient.

Software License Agreement Reviews:

  • Conduct thorough reviews of software license agreements, ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational requirements.
  • Identify key risks, obligations, and opportunities within each agreement prior to requesting legal input.
  • Liaise with the legal team to ensure all contracts and licenses meet the company’s policies and risk management strategies.
  • Provide recommendations for contract modifications or improvements based on business needs and industry best practices.

Purchase Order Approvals:

  • Manage the approval process for all software-related purchase orders, ensuring alignment with the company’s software strategy and financial optimisation.
  • Verify that all purchase requests comply with licensing agreements, internal policies, and vendor contracts.
  • Work closely with the procurement team to streamline purchasing processes and negotiate vendor terms when necessary.

Your present skillset;

You will have excellent knowledge of the Software procurement and asset management processes, with 4+ years’ experience of software procurement in a medium sized, fast paced and agile business, ideally within the financial services space.

  • Strong understanding of software licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription, etc.) and experience managing vendor relationships.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating software license agreements and contracts.
  • Proven ability to manage software spend, renewals, and cost optimisation.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to analyse licensing terms, usage reports, and procurement data to provide actionable insights.
  • Experience in contributing to and managing projects, especially relating to process improvements, roadmap creation, and procurement workflows.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
