What Are We Looking For?

We’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SEO Specialist who excels in both strategy and hands-on execution. This role is perfect for someone who understands the complexities of eCommerce SEO—particularly within the Shopify Plus ecosystem—and is passionate about driving meaningful results. You’ll play a key role in supporting and leading SEO initiatives across two core areas of our business: New Build and Growth Accelerator.

New Build Team

As part of the New Build team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting replatforming and migration projects, ensuring SEO best practices are seamlessly integrated from discovery through to post-launch. Your efforts will be crucial in maintaining (at minimum) organic performance as clients transition to Shopify.

  • Lead SEO workshops during the discovery phase to uncover opportunities, align on goals, and educate clients on best practices.
  • Deliver clear SEO playback sessions post-discovery, outlining insights, recommendations, and strategic direction to inform the build.
  • Provide strategic recommendations on international SEO, including hreflang implementation, site structure for multi-language or multi-region stores, and best practices for global visibility.
  • Conduct comprehensive pre- and post-launch SEO audits to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Create and manage detailed SEO migration plans, including URL mapping, redirect strategies, and metadata preservation.
  • Collaborate closely with developers and designers to ensure technical SEO is integrated into site architecture and theme development.
  • Advise internal teams and clients on content hierarchy, crawlability, and performance optimisation to support long-term organic growth.

Growth Accelerator Team

Within the Growth Accelerator team, you'll be responsible for driving ongoing organic growth for clients through strategic, data-driven SEO campaigns. Your work will be focused on performance analysis, continuous optimisation, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance visibility and revenue.

  • Conduct in-depth technical, content, and off-page SEO audits to uncover growth opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and execute data-led SEO strategies tailored to each client’s goals, with a focus on increasing organic visibility and qualified traffic.
  • Monitor site performance using tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, and Screaming Frog, turning insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Produce monthly performance reports and lead client calls, clearly communicating wins, insights, and strategic next steps in a consultative, value-led manner.
  • Collaborate with content, UX, CRO, and development teams to ensure SEO efforts are aligned with wider digital growth initiatives.
  • Work strategically with the paid media team to align SEO and paid efforts, uncover cross-channel opportunities, and develop more cohesive, complementary acquisition strategies.
  • Stay up-to-date with algorithm changes and SEO trends, ensuring strategies remain current and effective.

Other responsibilities include

  • Contribute to the agency’s thought leadership by creating insightful SEO content, including blog posts, whitepapers, and presentations that showcase expertise and industry trends.
  • Support the sales team by providing expert input on SEO-related opportunities, contributing to proposals, scoping, and attending client discovery or pitch meetings when required.
  • Train and mentor internal team members across departments to build SEO knowledge, promote best practices, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on SEO trends, algorithm updates, and the evolving search landscape—particularly in response to AI advancements and search generative experiences—and apply those insights to keep strategies effective and future-proof.

Experience

  • Proven experience with Shopify SEO or SEO within an eCommerce industry.
  • Experience with supporting  Shopify migration projects, ensuring best practices are maintained throughout the transition.
  • Experience conducting SEO audits using analytics tools such as GSC, GA4 and SEMrush, and providing actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in performing keyword research and competitor analysis to inform SEO and content strategies.
  • Ability to implement on-page and technical SEO recommendations, including metadata optimisation etc.
  • Ability to provide strategic recommendations to improve organic visibility and search engine rankings for retained clients.
  • Experience working closely with content teams to develop SEO-friendly content strategies, including optimising existing content and advising on new content opportunities.
  • Proficiency in monitoring and reporting on SEO performance using tools like SEMRush, Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical SEO concepts into actionable insights for clients and team members.

Benefits:

  • Salary negotiable based on experience
  • Pension
  • 30 days holiday per year, inclusive of bank holidays, plus 1 additional day per full year served, capped at 5 (Pro Rata'd for PT)
  • Flexible working hours during the day
  • In-person, hybrid and remote working flexibility
  • Beautiful Exeter-based offices
  • Working with dynamic, creative and growing clients on fun, challenging and often high-profile projects
  • We invest in our team and aim to provide assistance in growing and nurturing your skills
  • Be part of an inspiring, growing, highly collaborative and ambitious team
  • Regular team meetups, company socials and events
