About the Role:

You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the risk management framework for the organisation. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with various regulatory expectations and maintaining the financial stability and operational integrity of our business activities. Support the business to grow in a manner which is compliant and scales, and in line with our risk appetite. You will be a member of Remitly's Enterprise Risk Management organisation supporting programs and risk management activities across a number of jurisdictions in which we operate. This position is based in our London office and is a hybrid model (50% onsite). You will be reporting to of our Directors of Enterprise Risk Management.

You Will:

  • Actively contribute to and scaling the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERM) for local entities
  • Support Risk Officers in managing and setting the strategy for local entities
  • Support local risk function including risk controls, setting and managing risk exposures
  • Develop and use risk identification and measurement tools
  • Perform risk assessments, analyse current risks, and identify potential risks affecting the entity and products
  • Help mitigate risks arising from internal processes, people and systems
  • Investigate procedures and processes, document activities & identify appropriate controls
  • Review and evaluate new and revised processes to ensure the appropriate risk management oversight and infrastructure exist to measure, monitor, and control such risks
  • Actively support the annual risk assessment process and required reporting
  • Provide analysis and support in risk decisions with stakeholders
  • Contribute to enterprise risk & controls self assessment process, including ongoing gathering of risk data, maintaining enterprise risk universe, and reporting to key stakeholders;
  • Maintain ERM Risk policies, procedural documents
  • Maintain and develop the risk monitoring programme and remediation work
  • Mitigate threats by developing risk maps, strategic action plans and monitoring risk mitigation efforts
  • Produce and distribute risk assessments and progress reports
  • Facilitate the execution of risk management policies and procedures with the first line

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in risk management within the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of financial regulations
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing risk management frameworks
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with stakeholders at all levels
