What if you could use your risk expertise to strengthen decision making across a complex insurance business?

This role plays a key part in providing oversight, challenge and insight across Enterprise Risk Management activities, with a strong focus on Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs), issue and incident management, and risk reporting. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, acting as a trusted Risk partner and helping to embed strong risk management discipline.

Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch.

We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

What if you could have a positive impact – at work and in the world? As part of the QBE team, you’ll get to spend every day working with people who are passionate, talented and kind.

Your New Role

As a Senior Risk Analyst, you’ll play a leading role in delivering ERM oversight and challenge across QBE European Operations. You’ll bring a confident, analytical and inquisitive approach, supporting effective risk based decision making and acting as a visible Risk presence across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing insight to the business: Bringing curiosity and judgement to every interaction, you’ll deliver high quality risk insights that support better business decisions. You’ll be tenacious in delivery, clearly articulating the implications of your recommendations and supporting continuous improvement through regular engagement with business functions.

  • Stakeholder engagement: You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across multiple functions, participating in business forums to understand priorities and provide insight and constructive challenge. By putting internal customers at the centre, you’ll build trusted relationships and become a recognised Risk contact across QBE European Operations.

  • Technical expertise and delivery: You’ll lead and coordinate core ERM activities to the standards expected of a Senior Risk Analyst, including:

  • Coordinating and overseeing review and challenge of RCSAs, identifying key themes, control weaknesses and areas of focus

  • Supporting timely completion of RCSAs across the portfolio and addressing gaps or quality issues

  • Reviewing and challenging issues and incidents, including closure verification, data quality validation and compliance with standards

  • Providing inputs and insight into risk reports and dashboards for management committees

  • Supporting the implementation of the QBE ERM Framework in line with Group standards

  • Representing Risk in relevant forums and providing confident, value adding challenge

  • Collaborating closely with Risk colleagues and wider assurance teams to deliver as one function

  • You’ll communicate clearly and credibly with senior stakeholders, presenting findings and recommendations with impact and being open to feedback, while actively role modelling QBE’s DNA and inclusive culture.

    About You

We’re looking for someone with the confidence and experience to operate at the right level, along with:

    • Strong experience in risk management, audit, or a related assurance environment

    • Experience working within, or closely with, the general insurance industry

    • Deep understanding of Risk and Control Self Assessments, issue and incident management, and risk reporting

    • Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders, providing challenge and clearly articulating messages

    • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to turn data into meaningful insights

    • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including report writing

    • Commercial awareness and strong attention to detail

    • Ability to operate at pace with strong organisational skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

This role is well suited to someone with previous experience in risk or assurance who is comfortable working independently, influencing others, and applying professional judgement.
