Job DescriptionWhole Foods Market is looking for a Sr. Risk Analyst in Austin, TX!
As a Senior Risk Analyst on the Risk Management and Claims Team, you'll play a pivotal role in identifying, understanding, and mitigating risks that impact our business. You’ll leverage your analytical skills to create models, conduct statistical analyses, and develop effective scorecards to track and mitigate customer and team member incidents. With a focus on strategic project management, you'll collaborate with leadership to drive down risk-related costs and ensure our risk and insurance policies are aligned with our company values. Your insights and independent analysis will be key in shaping initiatives that protect our business and support our growth.
This role is based in Austin, TX, with an expectation of being in the Store Support office five days a week.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Partner with Retail and Facility Operations to provide strategic data analysis and consultation on risk and claims priorities. 

  • Develop and monitor risk and claims metrics aligned with company goals to prevent losses and improve performance. 

  • Analyze key loss metrics, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights to support decision-making. 

  • Produce and maintain Risk and Claims KPI scorecards to prevent incidents and contain losses. 

  • Seek to better understand drivers of team member and customer incidents, identify notable trends, and help achieve targets and improve performance. 

  • Provide claims support services for Workers’ Compensation, General Liability and Third-Party Property Damage recovery claims though financial and claims analysis as well as supporting data systems and claims management processes 

  • Partner with the Insurance Accounting and Finance to provide Risk and Claims support regarding financial transactions; loss reserving controls; actuarial analysis; and service billing support. 

  • Develop and recommend improvements in data collection, automation, and security to enhance reporting and responsiveness. 

What You'll Bring: 

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field, with 4-6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel with Alteryx experience strongly desired. Business intelligence tools such as Tableau or Power BI, Amazon QuickSight preferred. 

  • Risk Expertise: A deep understanding of risk management principles, claims strategies, and financial reporting. 

  • Analytical Acumen: Ability to analyze complex data, uncover trends, and recommend innovative solutions. 

  • Communication Skills: Strong ability to present insights and influence stakeholders, from team members to senior leadership. 

  • Leadership & Collaboration: Proven ability to work cross-functionally, engage diverse stakeholders, and drive meaningful results. 

  • Strategic Thinking: A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, solve problems, and streamline processes.
