Job Description:

This role is will be a regional leader and supporting globally across the sub categories of Sales & Distributors Services and Marketing Operations (SDS-MOPS) of Procurement for the MedTech business which represents around $400MM Globally and approx. $75MM within EMEA in spend supporting approximately $34B in global revenue.

The role’s scope of responsibilities include:

  • Determine the MedTech business needs in the category and sub-categories, and devise Procurement strategies for MedTech commercial business to advance those priorities

  • Identify industry trends that Procurement must build into its category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to the MedTech business

  • Responsible for category strategy development and implementation, supplier segmentation, key supplier management, supplier diversity, sustainability, efficient buying channels for the category in scope.

  • Support in knowledge sharing and creating SME community amongst the different procurement resources supporting SDS-MOPS

  • Conduct negotiations and provide recommendations for MedTech business leader approval on projects supporting the MedTech business

  • Coordinate with MedTech Procurement teams, and where appropriate directly with senior business leaders, to ensure alignment with regional business strategies

  • Act as an EMEA Procurement Regional Category Lead for SDS-MOPS

  • Shape performance targets for the MedTech Procurement organization in the role’s areas of responsibility, and ensure target achievement

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong business acumen – the ability to understand challenges through the eyes of the regional business leaders

  • Previous experience in negotiating and/or managing distributors and or sales agents is preferred

  • Strong Financial acumen- the ability to understand P&L and financial modelling

  • Influencing skills – the ability to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal

  • Ability to manage difficult complex negotiations, challenging the status quo through strong influencing and persuading skills.

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information to senior executives

  • Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus (spend management, category management and supplier management)

  • Strong project and change management capabilities alongside demonstrated resiliency

  • Demonstrated learning agility, and the ability to improve both yourself and the people around you
