What You Will Do

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee quantity surveying and commercial management across a range of projects from contract award through to completion. You’ll lead a team of Quantity Surveyors and be responsible for their commercial performance, while providing commercial and contractual advice to Sales and Projects teams. You’ll also coach and develop your team, including apprentices, ensuring successful financial project completion while mitigating company exposure to risk. Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial – UK&I, you’ll be a key part of our growth strategy and take responsibility for major projects in your region.

How You Will Do It

You will manage change effectively, make decisions with confidence, and handle ambiguity with ease. Excelling in a commercial environment, you’ll manage multiple priorities, using your exceptional planning, organisational, and leadership skills. You’ll foster a culture of continuous learning within your team, while collaborating both internally and externally to promote best practices.
A core part of your role will involve contract and account management for high-risk, high-profile projects, ensuring timely and profitable negotiations on variations and final accounts. You will manage change processes, identify claims, and calculate value entitlements, ensuring contracts are administered correctly. Additionally, you will provide ongoing commercial support and guidance to your team, acting as an escalation point for clients on any project under your lead.

What We Look For

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor managing projects from £100k to £10m

  • RICS accredited or actively working towards accreditation

  • Extensive experience in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) environments

  • Strong understanding of commercial and financial risk

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver on large commercial projects

  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical details to non-technical audiences

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make independent decisions
