Senior Quantitative Researcher – Equities
The Team:
AHL Fast Trading Strategies is the team responsible for the development of high Sharpe, fast frequency strategies across asset classes and for running Man AHL internal trading optimiser, which optimises trading across all AHL products. The team has been running for several years and look after a large and successful set of signals trading several asset classes and it’s looking to expand both signals set, asset class coverage and improve the platform more widely.
The Role:
As Senior Quantitative Researcher you will be responsible for development and portfolio management of new fast trading signals, improvement of existing ones and ongoing development of the Man AHL internal trade optimiser and trading platform. Responsibilities:
- Development of new fast signals across Equities
- Improvement of existing strategies
- Research and development of improved trade optimization techniques
- Research and development in portfolio construction techniques
- Research and development of execution strategies
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong academic record and a degree with high mathematical, statistical and computing content e.g. Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physics from a leading university
- A deep understanding of statistics and an ability to apply it to real world problems
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a financial institution.
- Expertise in programming language such as Python, Java, C++, kdb
- Detailed knowledge of equities market structure, participants, trading venues and microstructure.
- Understanding of order book dynamics, execution strategies and price impact
- Familiarity with complex execution and order placement techniques and low latency equity infrastructures
- Intellectually robust with a keenly analytic approach to problem solving
- Hands-on attitude; willing to get involved with technology and projects across the firm
- Strong inter-personal skills to enable communication across investment management teams and regions.
