Senior Software Engineer
Key responsibilities & duties include:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Python and microservices on AWS cloud infrastructure
- Build and deploy cloud-native solutions using infrastructure-as-code principles with Terraform
- Design, implement, and maintain event-driven architectures that enable real-time data flow and seamless integration across distributed systems.
- Develop APIs and services that integrate with existing airline systems and third-party platforms
- Implement AI/ML pipelines and data processing workflows to support operational intelligence
- Architect and optimize serverless and containerized applications for high availability and performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, DevOps engineers, and product managers
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices and design patterns
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers
- Contribute to technical architecture decisions and cloud strategy
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance and cloud costs
Required skills & qualifications:
- Proven experience building and operating event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka, AWS EventBridge, or similar messaging/event platforms.
- Professional software development experience with Python to a senior to lead level
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CloudWatch, etc.)
- Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
- Solid understanding of cloud architecture patterns and microservices design
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Proficiency with RESTful API design and development
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and collaborative development workflows
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Preferred skills & qualifications:
- Experience in the aviation, travel, or transportation industry
- Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
- Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and message queuing systems (SQS, SNS, Kafka)
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools (CloudWatch, Datadog, New Relic)
- Knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards
- Experience with agile development methodologies
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or higher)
- Contributions to open-source projects
