What's the role?
As a Senior Customer Program Manager for Automotive OEM (Map Making & Software Solutions), you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex customer-facing projects focused on map-making and software solutions for automotive applications. This role requires a deep understanding of automotive customer needs, navigation systems, digital maps, and related software solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. You will act as a key liaison between customers, internal teams, and stakeholders to drive program success and build strong, lasting relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and manage multiple customer programs in the automotive sector, focusing on map-making and software development.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes.
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones to ensure that program objectives are clearly defined and met


Customer Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for automotive customers, managing their expectations, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction throughout the program.
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including OEMs, suppliers, and other automotive partners.
  • Ensure alignment between customer needs and internal capabilities, driving customer success and long-term partnerships.


Cross-functional Coordination:

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., engineering, product management, and sales) to ensure the successful development and integration of map-making and software solutions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during program execution.


Risk & Issue Management:

  • Identify potential program risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project performance and resolve any issues or roadblocks that could affect program delivery.


Budget & Resource Management:

  • Manage program budgets, ensuring all activities are completed within financial constraints.
  • Allocate and optimize resources effectively to meet project goals and customer needs.


Reporting & Documentation:

  • Provide regular status updates, reports, and presentations to both internal leadership and customers.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of program activities, decisions, and outcomes for future reference and improvement.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to enhance program management processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to automotive navigation systems and software solutions.


Who are you?
Required Qualifications:
Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in program or project management, preferably in the automotive or software industry.
  • Proven track record in leading large-scale customer programs in the automotive sector, particularly related to map-making, navigation systems, or software solutions.
  • Strong background in customer relationship management and program delivery.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).


Skills & Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of automotive navigation systems, mapping technology, and software development processes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in program management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with OEM and Tier 1 supplier relationships is a plus.
  • Experience working with global automotive clients and managing international programs.
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in digital mapping, autonomous driving, and connected vehicle technologies.
  • German language skills is a plus
