About Simple Machines

Simple Machines is a leading independent boutique technology firm with a global footprint across London, Sydney and New Zealand. We operate at the intersection of data, AI, machine learning, data engineering, and software engineering—building bespoke platforms and products that turn complex data into real-world outcomes.

We work with enterprises, technology companies, and governments to help them better understand their organisations, customers, and citizens. Our teams design and build large-scale data platforms, intelligent systems, and high-impact software products.

We engineer data to life™.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our UK team and take a leading role in shaping and evolving the products we deliver with our clients across Europe.

This role is ideal for someone who combines strong product thinking with deep user-centric design instincts. You will be responsible for defining, shaping and continuously improving the products we build in client engagements, working closely with client and Simple Machines teams.

If you enjoy owning product direction, building compelling business cases, and designing great user experiences in complex enterprise environments, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:
  • Owning and shaping the product vision and roadmap, ensuring a clear link between feature investment and measurable business outcomes.
  • Gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to drive product decision making.
  • Authoring clear, outcome-focused business cases and feature shaping documents that articulate value, user need, and delivery scope.
  • Defining end user experiences for new capabilities — working hands-on with designers and engineering teams to ensure intuitive, high-quality UI/UX design.
  • Using UX best practices to translate product requirements into wireframes and interaction designs, iterating through regular feedback with client stakeholders and end users.
  • Working with senior stakeholders across the client's business to define product use cases and build relationships of influence with key decision makers.
  • Working closely with engineering and delivery teams to ensure features are built and released in line with product intent.
  • Closing the loop post-release by measuring impact, gathering feedback, and iterating based on evidence.

RequirementsYou will love and excel in this role if you:
  • Think like a true Product Manager, focused on outcomes, guided by hypotheses, and comfortable owning decisions end to end
  • Have strong experience building business cases and articulating the commercial value of product investments.
  • Are deeply user-centric, with hands-on experience defining user journeys and shaping intuitive UI concepts.
  • Can translate complex business and technical constraints into clear, usable product experiences.
  • Are comfortable analysing product data (usage, adoption, performance metrics) and using it to inform prioritisation.
  • Communicate confidently with senior stakeholders, influencing through clarity of thought and evidence rather than authority.
  • Balance strategic thinking with practical execution and be comfortable moving from product vision to backlog detail.
  • Thrive in complex enterprise environments where stakeholder alignment and clarity of narrative are critical.
  • Are proactive, structured, and capable of independently driving work forward.
Prior experience required:
  • Significant experience as a Product Manager within a technology-driven organisation (B2C experience preferred).
  • Demonstrable experience shaping user experiences with hands-on use of UX/UI tools (e.g. Figma) including creating wireframes or prototypes,
  • Experience crafting compelling narratives to foster support for product initiatives
  • Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver software products at scale.
  • Some experience in client-facing or consultancy environments is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Several years’ experience across discovery, delivery and post-release optimisation in software product environments.
  • Experience in data-led product development and product analytics, with the ability to translate insights into strategic decisions and measurable outcomes.
