At hyperexponential, we're building the AI-powered platform that enables the world's most critical decisions in a $7 trillion industry, which risks to take, and how to price them. These are the decisions that shape real-world outcomes: whether rockets successfully launch into space, autonomous vehicles make it to market, or communities recover after major storms.
Until now, insurance has been making billion-dollar decisions using outdated tools. We're changing that. Our platform brings together data, AI, and human expertise to give insurers the fastest path from submission to decision - helping them move faster, act smarter, and take on more risk with confidence.
Backed by a16z, Highland Europe, and Battery Ventures, we're scaling globally - already trusted by nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers, with zero churn and billions in premiums flowing through hx.
What began as a single product in one market has rapidly evolved into a multi-product, multi-territory platform powering every stage of pricing and underwriting. AI is at the core of what we do - from building the world's first domain-specific AI peer programmer for insurance (think GitHub Copilot with a PhD in actuarial science) to shaping agentic workflows that reinvent how this industry operates.
What makes hx different is the people who build it. Here, impact isn't tied to title or tenure; it's defined by the challenges you take on and the discipline you bring. Surrounded by peers who stretch you, you'll do the best, hardest work of your life in a company engineered to endure.
If that sounds like you, join us in building what comes next.
About the Product domainProduct at hx drives every breakthrough that transforms how insurers make billion-dollar decisions. At the heart of our platform sits the Models domain - the technical foundation that enables actuaries to build sophisticated pricing models and deliver them seamlessly to underwriters. This is one of our most complex product areas, requiring deep platform thinking to balance infinite customisation with reliable, scalable experiences.
As Senior Product Manager for Models, you'll own and evolve the platform that sits at the core of hx Renew, designing the abstractions and primitives that enable our most technical users to build flexible pricing models while maintaining enterprise-grade reliability. You'll work at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and complex business requirements, turning bespoke customer needs into reusable, generalised patterns.
This role demands both strong technical depth and product intuition - you'll collaborate deeply with engineering teams on architecture decisions while driving product strategy that serves nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers. If you want to shape platform products that enable other builders while solving problems at the frontier of insurance technology, this is where you'll lead that transformation.
What you'll be doingOwn and evolve our most complex platform domain, designing new components and capabilities that allow actuaries to build flexible pricing models while ensuring seamless integration across the entire hx Renew platform.
Drive platform abstraction and reusable patterns by distilling bespoke customer requests into generalised frameworks and primitives that scale across diverse use cases without increasing system complexity.
Balance flexibility with enterprise guardrails, creating solutions that accommodate diverse customer needs while preventing edge cases, misuse, and configurations that could compromise reliability or performance.
Lead technical product strategy through deep collaboration with engineering teams on product architecture, data modelling, system boundaries, and migration strategies that ensure safe evolution of critical systems.
Shape user experience for technical builders, designing components that make it easy for new users to get started while continuing to support power users pushing the limits of what's possible with advanced model configurations.
Execute cross-functional delivery from customer research and competitive analysis through to launch, coordinating across teams and stakeholders to deliver maximum impact within sprint cycles and longer-term strategic initiatives.
Built technical products as both engineer and product manager, with proven software engineering experience plus a track record of successful product delivery in complex B2B SaaS environments, ideally serving technical users.
Designed platform abstractions and building blocks that enabled other developers or technical users to create robust applications, with evidence of turning specific customer needs into reusable, scalable product capabilities.
Led cross-functional teams through complex technical product challenges, demonstrating ability to collaborate with engineering on architecture decisions while driving product strategy and user experience improvements.
Delivered measurable product impact in fast-scaling environments, with experience managing backlogs, running experiments, using data to refine decisions, and balancing strategic, customer, and internal priorities.
Navigated technical complexity while maintaining user focus, with demonstrable experience making hard trade-offs between ideal design and practical delivery, considering maintainability, performance, and risk at every decision.
Influenced through collaboration rather than authority, with evidence of empowering technical teams to deliver optimal solutions while maintaining clear accountability for user experience and business outcomes.
You prefer working on straightforward user-facing features rather than complex platform products that require balancing the needs of multiple technical user types and stakeholders.
You're more comfortable with established product patterns than pioneering new approaches to platform design in a rapidly evolving technical environment.
You're not energised by the deep technical collaboration required to work effectively with engineering teams on architecture, system design, and complex technical trade-offs.
If reading our Culture Document leaves you feeling neutral rather than energised, hx may not be the place where you'll do your best work. We're building something that asks for commitment and conviction, and we want you to feel excited by the opportunity to grow with us.
