You will own the Platform's secure software supply chain: the path from source to running, wherever customers run the Platform. You will own two existing products and incubate a third:
- Cloud Developer Environment (CDE): the toolchain inside each customer's cluster. It lets users build software without becoming software engineers.
- Release engineering: how we ship the Platform to customers. It covers software as a service (SaaS), customer virtual private clouds (VPCs), data centres and export-controlled air-gapped sites.
- Agentic software factory: how PhysicsX builds and ships the Platform itself, with agents working alongside engineers. How technical context and recorded decisions to guide implementation, verification, testing and velocity.
- Own discovery, priorities and roadmap for CDE and release engineering, while incubating the agentic software factory.
- Hide the developer toolchain from our users: environments, source control, artifact registries, builds and tests. Nobody should need to know what a container image is.
- Reduce the differences in release effort and timelines between connected and disconnected customer environments.
- Design the install experience with our deployment engineers, including remotely guided installs: clear prerequisites, checks before changes, and proof it worked.
- Define staged releases, canary releases and user acceptance testing (UAT) in the customer's environment before production.
- Make rollback safe and routine at every site.
- Make CDE and release engineering run fully disconnected, with no public-cloud dependencies, at sites no one from PhysicsX can reach.
- Make agents first-class users, with the same interfaces, identity and guardrails as people. They write code in the CDE and manage rollouts in release engineering.
- Use PhysicsX's internal experience to guide improvements to the products we ship to customers.
- Define how to measure the factory's impact on delivery speed and software quality.
- You are deeply technical. You understand continuous delivery, artifact supply chains and SDLC.
- You have product-managed developer platforms or software delivery tooling.
- You have shipped into environments you cannot reach directly: disconnected, regulated or customer-operated.
- You have turned internal tooling into a product other teams rely on.
- You have explored agentic coding or delivery workflows and can assess their limitations in an engineering team.
- Experience with enterprise security, compliance and change control.
- Products built for expert users who are not software engineers.
- Experience shaping a new team: scope, priorities and early hires.
- Clear communication that aligns teams.
- Experience with engineering software, or a background in simulation, design or process engineering.
- A software engineering background, or experience building developer tooling.
- Software supply chain security: provenance, signing and vulnerability scanning.
