Job Description

Your customers are the developers of our partners. Companies like Morgan Stanley, N26 and Ramp use our APIs to build fantastic cross-border payments experiences for their users. It's your job to make it as easy as possible for them to onboard, use, and test our APIs.

As the Senior Product Manager for API Tooling at Wise Platform, you will own the roadmap and execution for the tools and infrastructure that make our APIs easy to adopt and integrate. You'll be part of the API Experience team and focus on removing friction from every step of the developer journey—from their first interaction with our platform through testing and into production.

Your mission: Make it effortless for developers to onboard, use, and test our APIs through exceptional tooling and infrastructure.

What you'll be working on:

Developer Tools: Create intuitive self-service experiences that allow developers to discover, onboard and manage Wise Platform APIs. Develop simulation capabilities, enhanced testing tools, and streamlined access management that make the developer journey seamless from first exploration to production launch.

Security & Authentication: Own the Wise Platform partner security and authentication offering, making it easy for developers to securely connect to our APIs. Design credential management, authentication strategies, and secure connection protocols that balance security with developer experience. Build proactive tooling that helps developers manage credentials and prevent security-related issues.

Webhooks Infrastructure: Build and improve webhook reliability, observability, and usability. Ensure partners can easily set up, test, and monitor webhooks with clear visibility into delivery performance. Implement robust retry mechanisms and developer-friendly tooling that makes webhook integration straightforward and dependable.

In this role, you will:

Own the Roadmap: Define and execute the API Tooling roadmap, prioritising initiatives that make our APIs easier to onboard, use, and test. Focus relentlessly on reducing time-to-integration and improving developer satisfaction.

Drive Execution: Work closely with engineering teams to ship high-quality products on time. Make pragmatic trade-offs between scope, quality, and speed while maintaining a relentless focus on developer experience and outcomes.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with engineers, analysts, tech writers, sales, and product managers across Wise Platform to ensure seamless partner experiences from first API call to production launch.

Be Customer-Obsessed: Gather feedback directly from partner developers to understand their pain points and needs. Use research and data to inform product decisions and solve the problems that matter most to developers trying to integrate with our APIs.

Measure and Iterate: Define success metrics for API tooling focused on ease of use and adoption. Track performance, analyze usage patterns, and use data to drive continuous improvement in developer satisfaction, onboarding speed, and integration success rates.

Deliver Impact: Focus on shipping products that achieve measurable outcomes, including faster time-to-first-API-call, comprehensive testing coverage, reduction in incidents and smoother production launches.

Qualifications

Experience: 6+ years of experience in product management, with exposure to developer products, APIs, or infrastructure tooling.

Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of API design, authentication mechanisms (OAuth, API keys, mTLS), webhooks, and sandbox environments. You should feel comfortable discussing technical architecture with engineers and making informed trade-offs.

Customer-Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for developers and an understanding of what makes integration experiences frictionless. You know what good developer tooling looks like and can advocate for developer needs.

Analytical & Data-Driven: Ability to set measurable goals, interpret data, and use insights to prioritize initiatives. Comfortable with defining and tracking KPIs like time-to-integration, sandbox adoption rates, and developer satisfaction scores.

Execution-Focused: Proven track record of shipping products and delivering results. You thrive on turning strategy into reality and can navigate ambiguity to get things done.

Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable presenting to stakeholders and building alignment across teams.

Collaboration: Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, design, sales, and other product teams. You build strong relationships and create alignment around shared goals.
