About our Team:

Scopus data adheres to rigorous policies for selection, coverage, and processing, as established by the Content & Policy team. This team works with an independent Content Selection & Advisory Board (CSAB), consisting of 17 esteemed international scholars who are responsible for selecting the content included in Scopus. Amidst increasing concerns about publishing malpractice in the research community, maintaining the integrity of the Scopus corpus is paramount. Ensuring that both the content and the metrics used to evaluate it uphold high standards of integrity is a top priority. This process is conducted meticulously and in collaboration with the publishers of the content, often under the scrutiny of media attention.

About the role:

As a Senior Product Manager Research Integrity and Certification, you work together with your Content & Policy team members to address publication malpractice and research integrity issues. You determine the strategy for certification and evaluation of risk in research. You work together with data scientists and technology teams at Elsevier to further develop our tools to detect publication malpractice. You manage the narrative and thought leadership about research integrity in the academic community in collaboration with the Marketing and Global Communications teams. As this often happens in the public eye and issues may get escalated, alignment with Senior Management and the RELX Global Affairs team is needed.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a strategic vision for research integrity and certification within Scopus, aligning with Elsevier's overall mission and goals.
  • Product Development: Oversee the development and implementation of new policies, procedures and tools to support research integrity and certification processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including researchers, publishers, and institutions, to ensure alignment and address their needs.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of Scopus data and services.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats related to research integrity and certification.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of research integrity and certification initiatives.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of product management experience, preferably in the academic publishing or research industry.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of research integrity and certification processes.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data.

Personal Attributes:

  • Passion for advancing research integrity and quality.
