Help bring a new publishing product to life, reshaping how readers comment, engage with content, and discover new publishers.
CoEditor is the technology arm of OQS Media, a software business within the group. We work with our own platforms and other publishers to develop innovative solutions for the publishing industry.
We’re building a new product to reimagine how readers engage with digital publishing, from commenting and joining conversations to discovering new content and publishers. Our ambition is to make that experience more connected and rewarding for readers, while helping publishers build deeper relationships with their audiences.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to work directly with the CEO and take responsibility for turning that vision into a working product. You’ll help shape what we build, manage the roadmap, coordinate developers, and keep delivery moving from initial concept through to launch and beyond.
This is a practical role for someone who enjoys both product thinking and the detail of getting things built. You’ll be comfortable challenging assumptions, simplifying scope, working through user journeys, and giving developers clear direction. Strong UX judgement is important, and the ability to contribute directly to design and prototyping would be particularly valuable.
What you’ll do
- Work directly with the CEO to define the product’s goals, intended users, and measures of success.
- Explore the needs of readers and publishers, using research and feedback to shape the product.
- Turn the product vision into a focused launch scope and a clear, prioritised roadmap.
- Translate ideas into actionable briefs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate developers’ work, keeping priorities, responsibilities, and dependencies clear.
- Manage delivery milestones, track progress, and resolve blockers early.
- Make practical decisions about scope, quality, time, and technical complexity.
- Shape user journeys and contribute to UX decisions, making commenting, engagement, and discovery intuitive.
- Coordinate testing, review completed work, and prepare the product for launch.
- Use feedback and product performance to guide improvements after release.
You’ll have meaningful ownership of a new product, direct access to the CEO, and the opportunity to influence both the experience we create and how we deliver it.
Requirements
- A track record of delivering digital products, including taking a product or significant feature from an early idea through to launch.
- Experience managing product roadmaps, prioritising work, and coordinating delivery with developers.
- The ability to turn an open brief into clear requirements and achievable milestones.
- Strong product judgement, with the confidence to challenge assumptions, simplify scope, and decide what can wait.
- A strong understanding of UX and the ability to assess user flows, prototypes, and interface designs.
- Experience using user research, feedback, and product data to inform decisions.
- Enough technical understanding to discuss feasibility, dependencies, and implementation options with developers.
- Strong organisation and communication skills, including the ability to keep stakeholders informed and decisions clear.
- Confidence working directly with a CEO or founder, balancing strategic goals with practical delivery.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to work independently and take responsibility for moving the product forward.
Desirable
- Practical design and prototyping skills using Figma or comparable tools.
- Experience with publishing, media, SaaS, or products serving both businesses and consumers.
- Experience with commenting, online communities, content discovery, or reader engagement.
- An understanding of moderation, trust, and user safety within community products.
- Experience building new products in a small team or an early stage business.

- Salary dependent on experience.
- 5% Employer Contribution Pension Scheme.
- Generous Holiday Allowance with 25 days holiday per calendar year + birthday holiday bonus + Bank Holiday Leave
- All staff receive generous discounts at our Company restaurant, as well as free breakfast and fruit
