Hello! We're Teya.

Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.

At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.

We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.

We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.

We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.

Become a part of our story.

We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.

Your Mission

As a Senior Product Manager in the Global Merchant Database team, your mission is to own and evolve a core platform that sits at the heart of the company’s ecosystem. You will lead the development of products that manage merchant data, product catalogues, pricing models, and agreements - enabling teams across the business to build reliable, scalable, and secure merchant-facing experiences. This is a platform and technical product role, working with a highly cross-functional set of internal stakeholders. You will act as the product owner for APIs, event-driven systems, and authorization models that underpin how merchant data is accessed and used across the company.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and delivery for key platform capabilities within the Global Merchant Database

  • Act as the product owner for merchant data APIs and event interfaces, treating APIs as first-class products

  • Work closely with engineering to define clear, scalable API contracts, event schemas, and data models

  • Ensure backward compatibility, versioning, and deprecation strategies are thoughtfully planned and communicated

  • Partner with internal teams to understand their needs and translate them into platform capabilities, not one-off solutions

  • Define and evolve authorization and access control models for merchant data, balancing security, compliance, and usability

  • Collaborate with design, engineering, marketing, operations, security, and legal teams to bring solutions to life

  • Translate complex technical and business requirements into clear, actionable product requirements

  • Prioritise ruthlessly based on platform impact, adoption, and long-term scalability

  • Define platform success metrics (e.g. adoption, reliability, performance, time-to-integrate) and continuously optimise post-launch

  • Support the coordination and integration of multiple new products each year, ensuring a reliable, intelligent merchant data foundation

  • Champion documentation excellence, including API documentation, changelogs, migration guides, and internal product RFCs

  • Act as a strong internal advocate for platform thinking, consistency, and simplicity

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ Years in a Product Manager Role

  • Solid understanding of how REST APIs work (and awareness of other integration patterns)

  • Hands-on experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman or similar

  • Experience working with event-driven systems and defining product-level event semantics

  • Ability to reason about system design trade-offs (sync vs async, scalability, reliability) from a product perspective

  • Understanding of data modeling, data types, and schema evolution

  • Basic SQL knowledge and comfort working with data directly

  • Familiarity with DDD concepts from a product perspective (domains, bounded contexts, ownership)

  • Experience defining authorization and access control models (e.g. roles, scopes, policies) in multi-tenant systems

The Perks

  • Flexible working hours, built on trust and collaboration with your team

  • Physical and mental health support through Wellhub, including access to 1,500+ gyms, 1-1 therapy, meditation, and wellbeing apps

  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave options

  • Cycle-to-Work Scheme

  • Health and Life Insurance

  • Pension Scheme

  • 25 days of Annual Leave (+ Bank Holidays)

  • Office snacks every day

  • Friendly, comfortable, and informal office environment in Central London
