Senior Product Manager, Communications Domain

The Expedia Group Communications team is building a scalable outbound and conversational communications platform which enables billions of highly engaging communications to be sent to (and between) our travelers and partners every year.

The Senior Product Manager, Communications Domain will develop strategy and drive delivery for some of the key capabilities and vendor integrations within the Communications domain, as well as supporting the team in its ongoing operational rhythms. You will be joining a geographically diverse team of product managers responsible for developing a deep understanding of the communications space at Expedia Group, formulating and articulating clear and compelling product strategies, building and maintaining a backlog, applying a consistent prioritization framework, defining a roadmap with targeted delivery increments, and driving communications throughout the product lifecycle.  

The product scope of Expedia Group’s communications platform includes a substantial portfolio of both traveler-facing and partner-facing interactions, across both marketing and transactional channels (email, push, SMS, Inbox, In-Product etc). Critical metrics will include GP uplift delivered, communications engagement, platform efficiency and availability.  

What you will do:  

  • Craft the product vision and strategy for key Communications capabilities 
  • Create a comprehensive product roadmap that maps target outcomes and KPIs to delivery milestones 
  • Lead by example and help the whole team double down on best practice product management principles 
  • Understand technical components of your Product and appropriately influence technical decisions
  • Identify, influence and motivate key stakeholders across product teams 
  • Drive decision-making in ambiguous conditions 
  • Ensure accountability across all our customer groups through rigorously sizing product opportunities and aligning them to key business objectives 
  • Identify and create new opportunities to improve your product to optimise the customer experience and grow EG value 
  • Build relationships with internal teams, balance diverse interests and ensure platform adoption and value delivery through collaborating to develop adoption strategies informed by a compelling value proposition for end users  
  • Iteratively experiment and recommend strategies to optimise performance 
  • Consider user experience/drive customer-centric design solutions to optimise E2E user journeys 
  • Use data and models to tell stories that influence product decision making and prioritisation 
  • Drive consistency and quality in documentation/translation of technical and product reqs across teams 
  • Own milestones and release planning for large and complex projects 
  • Communicate effectively i.e. demonstrate storytelling, persuasion, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.  

Who you are:  

  • 6-8+ years of product management experience, with a keen eye on high-performing product management principles 
  • Ideal candidate has experience in the communications space, e.g. email, push, SMS, conversations, CRM, communications platform integrations such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud/Data Cloud, etc.  
  • Product management experience with MarTech space (Marketing Technology) desirable
  • Bachelors or Masters degree; or equivalent related professional experience. 
  • Strong strategic thinking skills with a customer-centric approach.  
  • Robust analytical skills, with the ability to drive data-informed decisions.  
  • Hyper-organized and able to effectively multi-task across different priorities. 
  • Proven ability to conduct experimentation and user segmentation analysis to identify and target the right user with the right experience to drive outcomes. 
  • Outstanding influencing, decision-making and collaboration skills across diverse teams, including product, engineering, research, design, analytics, data science and marketing to achieve company goals. 
  • Effective ability to communicate abstract ideas at a highest level and translate them into detailed user stories. 
  • Expertise in breaking down problems to build solutions incrementally.
