Job Description

BlueOptima is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to own the strategy, roadmap, and commercial success of our newly acquired Active MultiSite product suite. This is a mission-critical role responsible for leading our expansion into the enterprise DevOps infrastructure market. This individual will be defining the vision for how we provide unparalleled performance, availability, and security for the version control systems that power the world's most innovative companies. The ideal candidate is a deeply technical product leader with a passion for building highly available, performant, and secure on-premise solutions for the world's most demanding software development organizations. This role demands both operational excellence—maintaining the success of a core business—and strategic thinking to identify and validate new markets, making prior experience in high-ambiguity, scale-up environments highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy & Vision: Develop and execute a product strategy that solidifies our leadership in active-active replication for Git, Gerrit, and Subversion. Define a clear vision for the product line and its integration into the broader BlueOptima Software Engineering Intelligence Platform.
  • Roadmap Ownership: Own and manage the product roadmap from conception to launch. Prioritize initiatives based on rigorous analysis of customer needs, market opportunities, competitive threats, and strategic company goals including anticipating customer pain points with the acceleration of software development processes that generative AI is bringing to enterprises.
  • Strategic Incubation & Market Expansion: Demonstrate "0-to-1" product instincts by rapidly identifying, validating, and prototyping new, adjacent, or unrelated market opportunities for the core technology. Act as a self-starter, driving initiatives with a high degree of autonomy and comfort in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, similar to those found in high-growth startup or scale-up businesses.
  • Technical Collaboration: Collaborate closely with a world-class engineering team to deliver a reliable, scalable, and secure on-premise product. Translate market requirements into clear, concise, and detailed technical specifications.
  • Go-to-Market Execution: Work closely with enterprise sales, marketing, customer success/support and engineering teams to articulate our unique value proposition. Develop compelling product positioning, messaging, and sales enablement materials, including competitive battlecards, technical whitepapers, and product demonstrations.
  • Integration Leadership: Define and execute on an integration strategy with BlueOptima's core software engineering analytics platform, creating a symbiotic solution that provides end-to-end value for engineering leaders.
  • Market Evangelism: Serve as the product evangelist and primary subject matter expert for internal teams, customers, partners, and the broader market. Represent the product at industry events, in customer briefings, and through thought leadership content.
  • Customer Advocacy: Act as the voice of the customer within the organization. Engage deeply with our enterprise customers to understand their challenges, validate their needs, and ensure our product delivers tangible business value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years focused on enterprise-grade, on-premise infrastructure software, DevOps tooling, or a related technical domain.
  • Deep technical understanding of version control systems (especially Git and Subversion), CI/CD pipelines, and the common challenges of globally distributed software development.
  • Demonstrable experience managing products sold via a high-touch, enterprise sales motion to technical buyers (e.g., Heads of DevOps, IT Infrastructure).
  • Strong technical background and credibility, comfortable discussing complex architectural topics such as network latency, consensus algorithms, high availability, and disaster recovery with senior engineers and customer architects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate a complex technical value proposition to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to lead through influence and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Sales, Marketing, CS/Support).
  • Background working with enterprises in highly regulated or security-sensitive industries.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with consensus protocols (Paxos/Raft) or replication systems.
  • Exposure to platform engineering, SRE, or disaster recovery practices.
  • Hands-on experience as a software developer, DevOps engineer, or SCM administrator prior to moving into product management.
  • Experience with products in the high-availability, disaster recovery, or data replication space.
