Company Description

Hi! We're UW.

We’re on a mission to take the headache out of utilities by providing them all in one place. One bill for energy, broadband, mobile and insurance and a whole lot of savings! We’re aiming to double in size as we help more people to stop wasting time and money. Big ambitions, to be delivered by people like you.

Got your attention? Read on...

We put people first. It’s all about you..

We're looking for a technically-oriented, highly strategic product manager to deliver personalised, seamless, and secure experiences for our customers. As the Senior Product Manager for Account & Identity, you will own the critical core frameworks—such as authentication, account creation, and identity and access management (IAM)—that empower and enable other product squads across UW to build exceptional customer features. It’s a role that bridges deep technical re-platforming with real customer value.

Job Description

We're all about impact .. The key responsibilities of the role:

We’ve done a lot of re-platforming and modernising over the last few years, but there’s still so much exciting work to sink your teeth into. In this role, you’ll deliver secure, personalised experiences that make managing utility accounts simple and satisfying.

Here is what you’ll be doing to make an impact:

  • Design our future identity model: Work across our teams to find and deliver opportunities to make our identity model better, boosting our unique multi-service proposition.
  • Modernise customer account journeys: Partner with experience teams to build smooth journeys that make it easy for customers to register and maintain access to their accounts, while keeping security tight and mitigating risks.
  • Lead legacy migrations: Plan and execute a clear path away from old systems, making sure our new platforms are scalable, productive, and ready for future feature development.
  • Streamline onboarding: Simplify the account creation process for our operations teams so we can onboard customers at scale, figuring out smart business logic to handle exceptions with ease.
  • Own the domain strategy: Define the one-year vision and roadmap for your product area, set KPIs and OKRs with your squads, and fearlessly tackle complex prioritisation decisions

We get it done together.. The teams you'll work with:

You’ll be joining our Account & Identity (A&I) team. We currently have two engineering squads made up of seven brilliant engineers and an Engineering Manager whom you'll work alongside as a true partner.

Our mission is simple: we provide the core frameworks—like authentication, account creation, and identity access management—that empower every other product squad at UW to build secure, seamless experiences for our customers.

Because our work touches almost every part of the business, you'll collaborate closely with teams across Data, Product, Marketing, Commercial, and Operations. Together, you'll gather insights to unlock new opportunities, drive personalisation, and make managing customer accounts an absolute doddle.

Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced product manager who leads with positivity, drives a high-performance culture, and enjoys mentoring others and sharing knowledge. You’ll thrive in our "high challenge, high support" environment, where giving and receiving constructive feedback is simply how we all grow. You understand customers deeply, bring a highly collaborative and strategic mindset, and can confidently influence senior leaders and align teams on strategy without needing formal authority.

Here is the technical experience and knowledge you’ll bring to the table:

  • Account & Identity Expertise: You have a deep understanding of Authentication and Identity models, with hands-on experience delivering Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
  • Full-Stack Product Thinking: You've managed products that span both complex back-end infrastructure and high-visibility front-end customer experiences.
  • Data-Driven Leadership: You are highly fluent in using behavioral data and predictive modeling to create personalized customer journeys, and you're comfortable designing and running complex A/B tests to see what really works.
  • Prioritisation & Commercial Acumen: You know how to make tough trade-off decisions when resources are tight, and you understand the commercial metrics (like LTV, CAC, Opex, and Capex) that drive smart business investments.
  • Change Management: You have a proven track record of leading digital transformations and migrating old, legacy systems over to modern tech stacks.
