Job Description
About the roleCheckout.com is seeking a Senior Product Designer to help shape the next generation of merchant- and consumer-facing financial experiences. You’ll partner closely with Product and Engineering to design intuitive, scalable, and elegant products that empower businesses and people to thrive in the digital world.
As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll take ownership of complex problem spaces, lead design execution across multiple surfaces, and raise the bar for craft and quality within your product area. You’ll help define how we design, build, and evolve our products using strong interaction design, data-informed decisions, and a deep care for the user experience.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team, developing new features and refining end-to-end user journeys. As you gain a deep understanding of our products, users, and business ecosystem, you’ll help us simplify complexity, drive clarity, and deliver meaningful value for consumers around the world.
What you’ll be doingTake full ownership of the user experience for complex, high-volume merchant and consumer areas.
Set a high bar for design quality, focusing on pixel-perfect visual craft, interaction design, and ensuring a trustworthy, high-performance experience for the end-consumer.
Act as a true partner to Product and Engineers, collaborating from problem definition through to launch. You will ensure design solutions align with product strategy, technical feasibility, and customer needs.
Systematically identify, prioritize, and design opportunities to optimize conversion rates and usage. You will embed A/B testing, experimentation, and growth design principles into your daily workflow to deliver measurable business impact.
Actively maintain and grow our shared Design System by defining new patterns and components specifically for the consumer ecosystem, ensuring scalability and consistency across all platforms and touchpoints, driving its adoption and contributing to broader design quality initiatives across the Design function.
Explore and leverage Ai and generative tools for rapid prototyping, iteration, and visualizing future states, improving our speed and efficiency in bringing ideas to life.
Be highly autonomous in managing your planning, prioritization, and delivery. You will confidently present your vision and rationale to senior stakeholders, building consensus across product, engineering, and leadership.
Contribute to a high-performance design culture by proactively sharing knowledge, providing constructive critique, and acting as a mentor and go-to expert for cross-functional peers.
5-7 years of proven experience as a Product Designer with a track record of shipping impactful products in a fast-moving, high-growth, or scale-up context.
You possess excellent visual and interaction design skills with an exceptional attention to detail, and have a passion for creating high-conversion, consumer-grade experiences.
Expertise in growth design, conversion optimisation, and A/B testing methodologies is highly desirable.
Deep knowledge and proven experience designing and shipping products for native mobile platforms, specifically iOS and Android, ensuring platform conventions and constraints are utilized effectively.
You are a pragmatic systems thinker who excels at articulating a clear design point of view and aligning design solutions with strategic business outcomes.
You are comfortable working with ambiguity and are proactive and self-motivated, with demonstrated success in managing projects and competing priorities.
You possess persuasive communication skills and are adept at collaborating and influencing Product, Engineering, and senior stakeholders.
Previous experience in Fintech (banking, payments) is highly desirable.
