In this role, you will lead the design of end-to-end services and tools that empower developers across the Spotify Platform. You will champion design excellence and collaborate closely with business partners, product managers, designers, researchers, and engineers to expand Spotify's platform offerings for a diverse range of developers, from individual creators to large-scale development teams. 

What You'll Do

  • Responsible for design quality, standards, and cohesion for sophisticated user journeys for the studio.
  • Define and frame the problem space and strategy for others, and explore multiple solutions before landing on a strong point of view and recommendation.
  • Back up ideas with clear rationale and data/insights, and understand what level of communication is needed for whom.
  • Build strategy briefs, overview decks, and easy-to-navigate flows and specs.
  • Partner with product and engineering peers to co-create strategic direction, planning, and capacity mapping.
  • Expertly and regularly represent design in product rituals, collaborator forums as well as larger forums like studio-wide All Hands.
  • Organise content and information to help users focus on their primary tasks while educating them about their context.
  • Balance the needs of multiple audiences at once, e.g., listener, creator, and internal ‘Spotifier’ needs.
  • Independently run low-risk rapid research studies and usability tests to validate assumptions, iterate designs, and improve experiences.
  • Partner with Data Scientists to identify what questions we need to answer, and challenge/influence their team's understanding of the problem.
  • Deliver design value and experiences across multiple surfaces that involve collaborating with peers and collaborators across the company, to continuously improve our ubiquitous experiences.
  • Drive high-level studio initiatives forward from a design perspective, teaming up closely with leads across our team and the wider Spotify organisation.
  • Approach projects with a comprehensive mentality, proven to deliver solutions that improve the overall consistency, simplicity, and user-friendliness of products or services.
  • Mentor, empower and educate the designers within the studio and collaborate with the collaborators within the studio on product design, product experiences, and design strategy.

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in London or Stockholm
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
