FactSet is seeking a Senior Principal Program Manager to both deliver and oversee key programs within the Institutional Buy Side business unit. In this role, you will be responsible for managing leaders and their teams, ensuring effective program delivery and operational excellence across the region. You will mentor and develop program and project management talent, implement best practices, and partner closely with a range of stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
This position requires a balance of hands-on program/project management and strategic leadership: driving execution, elevating delivery standards, and ensuring alignment across teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in client-facing program and project management, with a proven track record of coordinating cross-functional teams and developing talent. Experience managing and advancing a team of program and project managers is essential.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee high-visibility programs and projects, ensuring alignment with business priorities, transparency across stakeholders, and successful delivery of outcomes.
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of program and project managers, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to build capability and drive consistent delivery excellence.
Oversee and guide the delivery of complex programs by supporting and empowering leaders within your team to define scope, assign responsibilities, allocate resources, and set clear milestones in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring on-time execution.
Monitor and govern program and portfolio progress by defining KPIs/success metrics, tracking performance, and reporting status to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Intervene to stabilize struggling projects, addressing bottlenecks in planning, communication, and execution, while mentoring your team to handle challenges independently.
Shape and uplift program management practices by identifying improvements to processes, tools, and governance standards, and driving adoption across your team and the PMO.
Provide leadership in issue and risk management, ensuring timely resolution while coaching your team in effective escalation and stakeholder communication.
Continuously evaluate program performance, capture lessons learned, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, adaptability, and team capability.
Manage client and stakeholder expectations, diplomatically pushing back when needed, while guiding your team in effective stakeholder engagement and communication.
Qualifications:
8+ years of program management experience, including managing teams of program/project managers, leading complex, cross-functional initiatives; experience in the finance industry or financial services is preferred.
Proven experience in client-facing roles, with strong ability to manage expectations, communicate effectively, and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to influence across all organizational levels, particularly senior management.
Track record of successfully delivering large-scale, complex programs and/or portfolios from inception to completion.
Experience using PMO and program management tools such as MS Project, SharePoint, MS Teams, RAID logs, and program dashboards.
Strong leadership, people management, cross-functional coordination, and communication skills, with the ability to drive results and develop high-performing teams.
Experience leading or influencing global and cross-functional teams.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
