Our hybrid work model (3 days in the London office) gives us the face-to-face time to collaborate, make quick decisions, and build strong relationships, while still offering flexibility to focus and do your best work.
About the Role:
We’re building AI-powered design systems that enable our teams to move faster, design smarter, and deliver consistent, accessible experiences at scale.
As Senior Principal Product Designer – Design Systems, you will shape how design and technology come together across Gen. You will build and evolve the foundations that enable product designers, engineers, and content designers to work with clarity, speed, and creativity.
This is a hands-on role focused on creating and refining design system components and interaction patterns across our products. You will craft high-quality UI components, ensure implementation readiness through close partnership with engineering, and help define how AI enhances design workflows through automation and adaptive tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Define, design, and maintain core design system components, patterns, and guidelines
Ensure consistency and scalability across Gen’s ecosystem
Craft high-quality UI components and refined interaction patterns
Partner closely with engineering to support real-world implementation
Explore how generative AI can support component generation, token management, design QA, and accessibility checks
Create tools and documentation that improve the designer experience
Drive adoption of the design system across teams
Collaborate with product design, engineering, brand, and research to align on standards and accessibility
Prototype and test AI-powered capabilities that streamline workflows while maintaining quality.
About You:
Experience:
Proven experience building or evolving large-scale design systems for digital products
Strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual interface design
Experience scaling visual and motion design concepts across applications and platforms
Experience working within complex product ecosystems
Skills:
Expertise in design tokens, component libraries, and documentation platforms (Figma, Storybook, Zeroheight, Supernova or similar)
Practical understanding of how AI tools can enhance design and collaboration
Strong communication and facilitation skills across design, engineering, and product
Empathy for the designer experience and ability to improve it through systems thinking
Experience in cybersecurity, fintech, or similarly complex ecosystems is helpful but not required.
