Role overview  

To support the APP Pricing Director

 to deliver profit and growth targets through:

• Identifying opportunities to expand our competitive footprint

• Identifying, understanding and rectifying unprofitable business

• Collaboration with the wider business

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering to portfolio KPIs by having responsibility for the Pricing and Underwriting strategies of an ambitious growth product

  • Hands on development of the UW pricing models/algorithms using a wide range of techniques and datasets to deliver great outcomes for customers and the company both directly and through others

  • Analyse large complex datasets to drive decision making that translates into commercial and customer value

  • Building and delivering robust MI and BI reporting to track key metrics and support trading and business decision making – allowing you to gain approval with our panel on your changes

  • Improvement, design and creation of analysis tools to allow the team to produce analytical results to a higher standard, more consistently and taking into account a wider context of the proposal while also allowing faster production of proposal documents to spend more time on analysis and less time on admin

  • Ensuring the customer is always delivered with a price that is fair, justifiable and in-line with our governance and processes 

  • Production and improvement of the monthly RAC pack to help demonstrate to Advantage current overall position vs targets and any emerging risks & opportunities

  • Leading a team of analysts and ensuring their development via continuous improvements and making them ready for their next roles

  • Ensure completion of all training as mandated by the company and regulated by the FCA

  • Ensure that levels of competence required to fulfil job requirements are demonstrated

  • Strong numeric and analytical skills

  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of what makes a successful and profitable business

  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of individuals, both technical and non-technical 

  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
