The role

What will you be doing?

Senior Pricing Analytics Consultant
Location: Hybrid, Dorking 2 days per week, 1 further day spent in Dorking, Basingstoke or London
At Unum, we are looking for a Senior Pricing Analytics Consultant to join our Finance team. You will take ownership of Management Information (MI) analytics across our pricing function – transforming data into actionable insights that powers decision making across all Unum product lines.
This is a highly technical role, an excellent opportunity to lead the evolution of our pricing MI, develop our data analytics and portfolio modelling capabilities to influence commercial outcomes across our functions.

What will you bring?

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and evolve pricing MI across all Unum’s active products – designing and delivering insightful analytics and dashboards to inform pricing strategy
  • Develop and enhance our data and portfolio modelling capabilities – leveraging advanced SQL skills and tools like Power BI, R and Python
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including Actuarial, Underwriting, Distribution and our Digital team
  • Lead on insight generation, monitor competitor activity, market trends and internal performance to inform decisions and financial planning
  • Coach and mentor team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

What you will bring:

  • Proven experience in data mining, advanced SQL and data analysis skills (R/Python advantageous)
  • Strong knowledge of data visualisation best practices (Power BI advantageous)
  • Ability to tell compelling stories led by data and influence stakeholders
  • Able to work under pressure and to strict timelines, managing and prioritising time effectively
  • Experience in insurance pricing (ideally Group Risk) advantageous but not essential
