Department OverviewThe Alta Video Cloud-based video security solution from Motorola Solutions has demonstrated several solid years of significant growth. We are now looking to further expand with an additional Senior Platform Engineer to support our Platform and Operations Team based out of our Uxbridge office.

Job Description
At Alta Video you will make a defining contribution to the development of our award winning product, which part of Motorola Solutions’s a next-generation security solutions, by:
Developing and scaling our cloud platform for both R&D as well as production environments.
Managing the day-to-day operation of our infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments, including both Google Cloud Platform and AWS.
Adopting and driving a security-first mindset across everything you do.
Taking the time to Improve existing work, in regards to processes and tools.
Staying up to date with the latest developments within design, technology, and security, and suggesting short and long-term solutions.
Together with our software development teams, you will also get the opportunity to shape our unified security solution.
Basic Requirements
Please note, this is a hybrid role out of the office in Uxbridge.
You’re not expected to have all of the following skills, but they will be useful in performing your job. We are looking for someone who:
Can demonstrate outstanding technical ability.
Is a passionate technologist with impressive infrastructure knowledge in Linux, AWS and/or GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, and Bash.
Takes pride in what they do and is as committed to airtight tests as to implementing shiny new features, understanding not just day 0/1 needs, but looks forward to operating them at day 2 and beyond.
Likes to find or develop - and then use - the right tools for the job, and share them.
Enjoys using chaos-engineering principles to make an entire system robust.
Wants a career where their creative abilities will make a difference to the world of technology and where they will be part of an impressive R&D environment.
Wants to have their voice heard within the Team, and enjoys discussions and collaborations, but also is exhilarated by taking on a challenge individually and driving it through, whether that takes six hours, six weeks, or six months.
Is proficient in English.
It is also considered a bonus if you have knowledge/experience of:
Having experience in an AWS FedRAMP environment, and/or having worked in the AWS GovCloud, will be a big advantage.
Cloud architecture development, ideally across Google Cloud Platform and/or AWS.
The Go programming language.
Knowledgeable in continuous integration and continuous delivery/deployment processes and tooling (e.g. GitHub Workflows/Actions or Jenkins).
