We are now looking for a Senior People Manager to join our People team for a 12 month fixed term contract behind maternity leave. 


The Senior People Manager will provide advice to managers on a range of areas, working collaboratively and with guidance from the Senior People Partner to support on complex case management and projects, supporting the wider people agenda.

 

About the Role

  • Acting as an expert, providing advice, support and guidance to managers on investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters, acting as the first line support for case work within the People Team
  • Supporting managers, in collaboration with the Senior People Partner and wider HRBP team, to manage capability and performance effectively and consistently. 
  • Advising on all aspects of employee relations, policy, process and employment law. 

 

About You

  • Experience working within, or appreciation of, working within a busy media organisation 
  • Experience of working within a unionised environment and the process around that
  • Understanding of sensitivities surrounding information going into the public domain 
  • Experience of stakeholder management and working with challenging stakeholders. 
  • High level of literacy and exceptional attention to detail.

We operate in a hybrid environment working 3 days a week from our offices in Kings Cross and 2 days a week remotely. 

 

Guardian News and Media is proud to be a London Living wage employer. The minimum salary for any full-time role within the organisation is £30,000 per annum. Salary ranges are dependent on skills and experience.

Benefits at the Guardian

You'll have 30 days of annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) with the option to purchase an additional 5 days. Our pension scheme is generous; if you contribute 5% then we will contribute 8-12% (depending on your age).
