About Us
At Splend, we're on a mission to fundamentally change the way people own and operate a vehicle. With a strategic focus on rideshare, we provide our customers with straightforward, no-strings-attached access to vehicle ownership. But we aren't just about vehicle ownership. We're also fast-tracking the transition to green mobility, leading the way globally in reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector by transitioning our fleet to electric vehicles.

You'll be excited to work in this role if...
  • You love being a true generalist - coaching a manager through a tough conversation in the morning and running a hiring process in the afternoon.
  • You enjoy business partnering, advising and rolling up your sleeves all in one day
  • You want to be the go to people partner for a growing London office, with real autonomy to shape how things are done.
  • You’re curious about how better systems and practical AI tools can strip out admin and make people’s processes work better.

About the role

As the Senior People Business Partner, you’ll be the senior People & Culture presence in our London office. Reporting to our Chief People Officer in AU and partnering closely with the UK General Manager, you’ll own the full breadth of the UK people agenda: employee relations, engagement, performance, culture and end-to-end recruitment. You’ll have the autonomy to lead the UK people plan, while staying closely connected to our global People & Culture team in Australia and contributing to global projects. You’ll also provide dotted-line leadership to our UK Talent Coordinator, setting the standard for quality hiring across London.

What you'll be doing

  • Partner with the UK General Manager and London leadership team across the full employee lifecycle, linking the people plan to business outcomes and owning workforce planning for the London hub
  • Coach and guide people leaders on leadership, performance management and difficult conversations
  • Lead employee relations cases independently end to end - disciplinary, grievance, performance, redundancy and restructures, making sure every process is fair and legally sound
  • Keep UK policies, contracts and handbooks current with legislative change, working with external employment lawyers where specialist support is needed
  • Own UK recruitment from briefing to offer, working day to day with the UK Talent Coordinator and alongside our global Talent Acquisition team to deliver a consistent, high quality hiring experience
  • Run and improve our UK HR systems and processes, and act as UK lead for our upcoming HRIS migration
  • Design and run UK engagement activity - surveys, events and recognition and act on feedback with visible follow through
  • Find and trial practical improvements, including AI tools, that cut manual admin and improve the quality of UK people data and reporting
  • Partner with the AU team on projects and advise on UK developments in legislation and talent market

What you'll bring to Splend

  • 7+ years’ generalist HR experience, including time as an HR or People Business Partner, ideally in a scale-up or fast paced commercial environment
  • A track record of partnering with and influencing senior commercial leaders at GM level
  • Strong, current knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations, including disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and TUPE
  • Hands on, end to end recruitment experience, plus confidence using an ATS (Lever or similar) and an HRIS
  • A curious, adaptable and collaborative approach, with high ownership and the confidence to work autonomously
  • Able to travel occasionally within the UK

At Splend, we value diversity and inclusion and consider it key to our success. We’re dedicated to fostering a workplace where everyone is respected and supported. We celebrate differences in race, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion, and ability, seeking diverse perspectives to drive us forward.

If this role sounds like you, but you're not quite sure if you meet every requirement, apply anyway. We're interested in the whole person - your attitude, your potential, and what you'd bring to the team - not just a checklist of credentials. We'd rather hear from you than have you talk yourself out of it.

When you apply, let us know if there are any reasonable adjustments we can make to accommodate you during the interview process.
