We design Spotify’s consumer experience—end to end, moment to moment, across every screen, platform, and partner integration. Our mission is to make listening feel effortless, personal, and joyful for billions of users around the world. That means turning complexity into clarity across hundreds of touchpoints—from our mobile and desktop apps to the smart speakers, TVs, cars, and integrations where Spotify shows up every day. If it touches a consumer, we shape it. We bring deep insight into human behavior, design and technology to craft experiences that feel intuitive, expressive and unmistakably Spotify.

Spotify is available on thousands of connected devices around the world—from smart speakers and TVs to audio systems and emerging hardware platforms. Behind every great listening experience is a close partnership between Spotify engineers and the companies building those products.

As a Senior Partner Engineer, you'll help shape those partnerships. You'll work with leading hardware manufacturers to bring new Spotify experiences to life, acting as the technical bridge between external partners and Spotify engineering teams. Whether you're helping a partner integrate Spotify's Core Playback SDK, driving technical alignment across multiple engineering teams, or solving complex integration challenges, your work will directly influence how millions of listeners experience Spotify every day.

What You'll Do

  • Build trusted technical partnerships with strategic hardware manufacturers, including companies developing connected audio products.

  • Lead technical integration projects from planning through launch, helping partners successfully adopt Spotify's Core Playback SDK.

  • Collaborate with engineering, product and cross-functional teams to align priorities, remove blockers and deliver high-quality partner experiences.

  • Drive technical discussions, architecture reviews, workshops and implementation planning with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Write clear technical proposals, RFCs and design documentation that help engineering teams make informed decisions.

  • Monitor project health, proactively identify risks and coordinate solutions across multiple engineering teams.

  • Investigate and resolve complex SDK, API and integration challenges, contributing code when appropriate.

  • Help improve the tools, processes and developer experience that enable partners to build with Spotify more effectively.

  • Contribute to the long-term evolution of Spotify's hardware platform by identifying opportunities to simplify integrations and scale partner success.

Who You Are

  • You have a strong foundation in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

  • You have 5+ years of experience working in software engineering, partner engineering, developer relations, solutions engineering, or a similar technical role.

  • You are experienced with software development, SDKs, APIs, distributed systems or embedded technologies.

  • You can comfortably read, understand, and contribute to production code while discussing technical architecture with engineers and technical partners.

  • You have experience working across organizational boundaries and building strong relationships with both engineering teams and external partners.

  • You know how to navigate ambiguity, prioritize effectively, and keep complex technical initiatives moving forward.

  • You communicate technical concepts clearly, adapting your approach for different audiences without losing technical depth.

  • Experience with consumer electronics, connected devices, smart home products, audio platforms or hardware certification is valuable.

  • Experience writing technical specifications, architecture proposals or RFCs is an advantage.

Where You'll Be

  • This role is based in Stockholm.

  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
