What you’ll achieve
As a Senior DBA, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing the company’s Oracle database environment.
You will be responsible for building the Oracle practice within the company, designing and implementing best practices, and ensuring that Oracle databases are reliable and secure.
Working with an extended highly skilled team, you will be making a profound impact throughout the healthcare sector.
You will:
- Build and establish the Oracle database practice within the company, defining architecture, policies, procedures, and operational workflows.
- Design, deploy, and maintain Oracle database systems (RDBMS, Exadata, RAC, Data Guard, etc.) to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Lead database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting efforts for Oracle databases across various environments.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies, including disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, network engineers, and system administrators, to support and optimize database-driven applications and services.
- Manage database upgrades, patches, and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption to services.
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior database administrators and other IT staff.

Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Extensive hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA, with a proven track record in Oracle database administration.
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle database architecture, RAC, Data Guard, Exadata, ASM, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Experience in building and maintaining Oracle database practices in an enterprise environment.
- Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting Oracle databases.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Shell, Perl, Python, Ansible).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Requirements
- Stay up to date with emerging Oracle technologies, database trends, and best practices to continuously improve the database environment.
- Oracle Certified Master (OCM) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) certification.
- Experience with cloud-based Oracle database environments (e.g., Oracle Cloud, AWS RDS, etc.).
- Experience with database performance monitoring and reporting tools (e.g., Oracle Enterprise Manager).
