The role

What will you be doing?

Position: Senior Operations Manager
Location: Dorking or Basingstoke (with hybrid working - 3 days per week in office)
Reporting To: Head of Group Policy Servicing

What will you bring?

The Senior Operations Manager provides strategic leadership in shaping the Group Policy Servicing Operational Strategy, ensuring alignment with both current and future needs through comprehensive resource planning and forecasting. 

This role is pivotal in developing and integrating a scalable model that drives operational rigour and efficiency.  You will be accountable for processes, procedures, expert technical support and policy production. You will ensure the smooth running of daily operations and support the delivery of policy servicing in compliance with regulatory requirements and risk appetite.

Your strategic mindset, exceptional communication skills, and ability to build strong relationships will be key when collaborating across all levels and functions of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:    

  • Lead and manage a high performing team, ensuring capability and competence across all roles.
  • Responsible for resource and budget planning, ensuring optimal workforce allocation and financial forecasting to meet operational demands, including cost control to ensure financial sustainability and efficiency.
  • Accountable for developing and maintaining a robust control framework to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaborate with 1st line risk functions to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, embedding a strong risk culture across operations.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement, identifying and implementing operational enhancements.
  • Accountable for the maintenance and reporting on KPI’s related to operational effectiveness, compliance and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

  • Strong ability to develop and implement operational strategies aligned with long-term business goals.
  • Proven track record in workforce planning and forecasting models to ensure optimal resource allocation with a solid understanding of budget forecasting and budget control.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment, control frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong presentation and data storytelling skills to provide clear insights to senior management and stakeholders.
