Senior Motion Designer

Salary: £47,000 dependent on experience plus company benefits

Location: Capital House, 85 King William Street, London EC4N 7BL

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Shifts: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 8am-6pm

Break: 30-minute lunch, unpaid

Work format: Hybrid (four days worked in office per week)

Williams Lea is looking for a Senior Motion Designer to join our team!

Purpose of the Role

We are seeking an energetic, client-facing Mid/Senior Motion Designer to play a key role in the creation and execution of video and animated content. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical requirements to stakeholders, manage project timelines, and set clear expectations.

This role is central to the development, implementation, and maintenance of a cohesive visual identity system. Responsibilities include designing a wide range of content such as digital assets, social media visuals, data visualizations, marketing materials, internal communications, and reusable templates.

A solid understanding of cross-media design principles and production workflows is essential to ensure visual consistency and strategic alignment across all outputs. We’re looking for a true team player with a collaborative mindset, ready to contribute creatively and work closely with others to bring ideas to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Creative Director and team to align and support larger media and creative goal
  • Motion Design Specialist: Act as the in-house expert on animations, collaborating with the video editor to conceptualize, storyboard, edit, and create engaging, high-quality content for a wide range of campaigns
  • Innovation: Take the initiative on projects, providing new and innovative solutions while adhering to creative and brand guidelines
  • Creative Execution: Ensure the animations and designs follow briefs and guidelines, while pushing creative boundaries to create standout content
  • Template Creation: Design graphic and video templates for use by other team members and client teams to maintain consistency across assets

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in a creative agency or an in-house creative team, with a focus on motion graphics and video content
  • Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of engaging and inspiring motion graphics content, including short videos
  • Branding Expertise: Solid understanding of branding and the ability to communicate brand messaging effectively through videos and animations
  • Creative Thinking: Ability to demonstrate strong creative thinking and apply it across all projects, ensuring flawless design execution
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the financial or corporate sector is advantageous
  • Client Brief Development: Take ownership of client briefs, ensuring designs align with brand guidelines and strategic objectives
  • Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro
  • Design Tools: Expert knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Illustration Skills: Strong illustration skills and the ability to adapt your creative approach to different project needs
