Job Description
Onyx is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager to join our growing Trade Regulatory Monitoring (TRM) service line. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the development and delivery of a cutting-edge solution that helps businesses navigate the complex world of international trade regulations.
About the TRM:
Our TRM service line monitors daily changes in trade regulations, including tariffs, export/import restrictions, and other relevant measures. By leveraging technology and our team's expertise, we ensure clients stay ahead of the curve and support their global operations.
Responsibilities:
- TRM Client Management:
- Ensure the quality, cadence and reliability of client TRM deliverables.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly and effectively.
- Manage daily client communications and maintain reliable service delivery.
- Onboard new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and understanding of the offering.
- Monitor client feedback and identify opportunities to enhance client work.
- Business Development:
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to showcase the value proposition of TRM.
- Support the development of proposals and responses to client inquiries, keeping a firm grasp of the client’s perspective and needs.
- Assist in the creation of TRM marketing materials and presentations.
- Research and Analysis:
- Stay abreast of key developments in global trade policy and regulations, with a particular focus on the US.
- Support the development of Onyx views on the future direction of trade policy and regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the Onyx team and other Expeditors colleagues to develop key calls on the future of trade policy and regulations.
- Support client work including presentations to clients and the public.
- Service Line Development:
- Contribute to TRM development and growth, including processes, sources, and reporting.
- Collaborate with technology teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive TRM documentation.
Qualifications
- Expertise: Demonstrated experience and deep understanding of international trade regulations including, but not limited to, export taxes and incentives, import tariffs and non-tariff barriers, trade finance, and AD/CVD.
- Client Focus: Demonstrated experience in a client-facing (internal or external clients) role with a proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Experience: Proven relevant experience within a consulting, industry, or government agency setting.
- Communication: Excellent English speaking and writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Project Management: Strong project management skills with the ability to set milestones, set and manage work plans, manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of work.
Additional Information
Job Type: Full-time. Expeditors has an in-office work policy and offers 26 work-from-home days per year. Depending on location, employees may be required to travel for client and team meetings.
Education: Bachelor's Degree (Required), Master’s Degree (Preferred).
Experience: 5+ years relevant professional experience in trade regulations and policy.
Work Location: Global, ideally Mexico City, Mexico; Austin, TX; Seattle, WA; or Vancouver, BC
