The Role

This role is to provide 12 months cover for a Senior Technology Risk Manager (2nd Line) covering the FTSE and Corporate Engineering divisions. It will require a solid understanding of technology and change risks, technology control frameworks, issue management and RCSA activities. An essential part of the role will be to develop trusted business partnership with the divisional CIOs and their teams to support oversight and management of their technology risk profiles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and challenge of Technology policies and procedures, including service delivery, incident management, infrastructure and change delivery

  • Encouraging best practice and continuous improvement and adherence to the overall Group Risk framework

  • Adopting a business partnering approach with key technology stakeholders across the Group

  • Ownership and development of the Group Risk project assurance framework

  • Ensure timeliness and high quality reporting of technology risks in divisional risk registers

  • Monitoring of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and conducting regular assessment of effectiveness of key controls

  • Developing appropriate management information dashboards to provide clear visibility of the assurance programme

  • Engaging with group functions and businesses to identify process improvements and best practice

  • Supporting business and central function portfolios through the change risk framework

  • Providing guidance and challenge to 1st line of defence on risk and control management, technology strategy and delivery

  • Development of Group Risk’s technology risk frameworks

  • Attendance and participation in relevant committees, forums, project boards and workshops

  • Delivery of training and workshops to key stakeholders and employees

  • Develop strong risk culture and promote awareness

  • Supporting and challenging technology practices including development, QA, release management and operational processes and procedures

Candidate Profile / Key Skills

  • Appropriate experience and qualifications related to technology governance and risk management e.g., COBIT, ITIL, ISO31000, COSO

  • A background in the financial services sector and have experience of managing technology risks

  • A good understanding of the core controls and metrics used to manage technology risks

  • An interest in developing and delivering risk training and awareness in a creative and innovative way in relation to technology risks

  • Excellent communication skills and be keen to collaborate across the Group, with a global view on problem solving
