Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated, performance-driven, knowledgeable, detail-oriented and hands-on Senior Tax Manager for Europe, Middle East and Asia to join our corporate tax organization. This role is responsible for day-to-day compliance and reporting for Europe and the Middle East jurisdictions and will drive cross-functional processes to achieve corporate tax goals in support of international expansion, transfer pricing, and tax structuring efficiency. This position reporting to the Director of Tax will have a key role in driving organizational success and is highly visible with excellent prospects for future career development.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and mentor tax staff and foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation, knowledge sharing and professional growth.
• Manage internal resources and external vendors in preparation and filing all direct and indirect tax filings including local country income tax, VAT returns, and all other indirect taxes as required.
• Manage tax compliance and reporting pertaining to the UK Patent Box regime.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to manage tax implications of Company’s entrance into new markets including direct and indirect tax registrations, PE considerations, customs and duty exemptions, and other tax matters as required
• Collaborate with Tax Director of Reporting in support of transfer pricing (“TP”) matters, including annual documentation, quarterly testing and identification and valuation of intercompany transactions.
• Manage income tax accounting including preparation of tax provision workpapers for USGAAP and local statutory reporting, tax account reconciliations, coordination with tax and finance teams, auditors and outside advisors to achieve various deliverables and deadlines.
• Research tax technical issues and prepare memorandums in support of tax positions and the impact of new legislation in jurisdictions managed.
• Manage tax audits and defense throughout Europe, and the Middle East.
• Tax planning for income taxes, VAT, and other taxes
• Spearhead the research and implementation of automation systems that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of indirect tax reporting and e-invoicing reporting processes.
• Support HR on matters such as tax implications of equity compensation, fringe benefits, expatriate employees or other HR-related matters
Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Demonstrated relevant working experience in both public accounting firm and corporate finance department, with clear experience in a managerial role and experience with managing direct and indirect tax compliance for multinational companies.
• Good understanding of European Taxes (mainly Corporate Taxes and VAT).
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, communication, and hands-on contributor.
• Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning software, such as SAP, Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and Power Point. Strong Excel skills required
Preferred Qualifications
• Chartered Accountant, or advanced degree in tax preferred
• Pharmaceutical or medical device industry experience preferred
• Experience with ONESOURCE Tax Provision, Vertex, Avalara, SAP S4/Hanna, Alteryx or other automation tools is a plus.
